Refreshed for the first time a year later than originally intended, the  2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing features new exterior and interior details along with several new tech items. The vehicle also gets four new exterior paint colors for the model year.
GM Authority is highlighting one of these new hues here, the Drift Metallic color: a pale metallic blue paint with a light gray shimmer.
Color code GAE and touch-up paint code WA-220K are used to identify Drift Metallic. The new paint joins a lineup of 10 paint colors featured on the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing and shown in the following list:
- Argent Silver Metallic (GXD)
- Black Raven (GBA)
- Coastal Blue Metallic (GJV)
- Cyber Yellow Metallic (GCP)
- Radiant Red Tintcoat (GNT)
- Summit White (GAZ)
- Deep Space Metallic (GAI – new for 2025)
- Drift Metallic (GAE – new for 2025)
- Magnus Metal Frost (GBL – new for 2025)
- Typhoon Metallic (GBW – new for 2025)
Drift Metallic is a metallic paint color, as its moniker indicates, but it is not a tintcoat. Similar to three of the four new 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing paints, it is an extra-charge option priced at $625 additional. It cannot be ordered in conjunction with the two interior colorways reserved to the CT5-V Blackwing Le Monstre Special Edition (RPO code ZLZ) – namely, Sky Cool Gray with Phantom Blue accents and Jet Black with Phantom Blue accents – but can be matched to any other 2025 Blackwing colorways.
For reference purposes, eight 2025 CT5-V Blackwing interior colorways are available as listed below:
- Jet Black with Jet Black accents, Leather with Mini-Perforated inserts
- Jet Black with Jet Black accents, Leather with Sueded front seatbacks
- Sky Cool Gray with Jet Black accents, Leather with Sueded front seatbacks
- Jet Black with Jet Black accents, Full Semi-Aniline leather
- Sky Cool Gray with Jet Black accents, Full Semi-Aniline leather
- Natural Tan with Jet Black accents, Full Semi-Aniline leather
- Sky Cool Gray with Phantom Blue accents, Full Semi-Aniline leather
- Jet Black with Phantom Blue accents, Full Semi-Aniline leather
Pricing of the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing was initially revealed by GM Authority and starts at $96,990. The refresh debuts several new options and packages, with one of the most expensive being the $18,000, performance-oriented 2025 CT5-V Blackwing Precision Package. This adds increased spring rates, a larger front stabilizer bar, and revised suspension bushings along with recalibration of many components for enhanced performance. A trio of wheel styles is on offer. Those looking to try out builds or order online can make use of the model’s Internet configurator.
Out of the full production run 101 Blackwing sedans will get the Le Monstre Special Edition, a $32,500 aesthetic package based on a winning Cadillac entry in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. With exclusive Magnus Metal Frost paint and two exclusive interior colorways, the Le Monstre salutes the famous race’s 101st anniversary.
Offering a hefty 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque, the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine is the only powerplant to motive the 2025Â Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. For cog swaps, standard fare is the GM six-speed manual transmission, though buyers can also opt for the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.
All CT5 trims and variants ride on the GM Alpha 2 platform. The 2025 CT5-V Blackwing rolls off the assembly line at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

Love the car, and the color would make a great contrast parked next to my Sebring Orange C7 ZR1. In my opinion, the CT5 V BlackWing is the best sedan ever made – My utmost respect to all the American patriots making these amazing cars; I can’t wait to see what the Cadillac team has in store for us with the Formula 1 Team- God bless GM, God bless America, and God bless President Trump for rolling back all the EV nonsense. RON.
