Official energy consumption figures have been released in Canada for the $340,000 base price flagship vehicle model of GM’s luxury brand, the 2025 Cadillac Celestiq, giving a look at how the sportback sedan sizes up to other recently launched Cadillac models in terms of power and range.
The Canadian estimates of the 2025 Cadillac Celestiq sedan’s fuel economy ratings show the vehicle getting 84 city/76 highway/81 combined MPGe. This metric shows how many miles the Celestiq can travel while consuming the same amount of energy as that supplied by 1 gallon of gas.
Metric | U.S. Conversion | |
---|---|---|
City Energy Consumption | 24.8 kWh/100 km | 40 kWh/100 mi |
Highway Energy Consumption | 27.3 kWh/100 km | 44 kWh/100 mi |
Combined Energy Consumption | 25.9 kWh/100 km | 42 kWh/100 mi |
City Fuel Consumption Equivalent | 2.8 Le/100 km | 84 MPGe |
Highway Fuel Consumption Equivalent | 3.1 Le/100 km | 76 MPGe |
Combined Fuel Consumption Equivalent | 2.9 Le/100 km | 81 MPGe |
Driving Range | 488 km | 303 mi |
Level 2 Charge Time | 8 hours | 8 hours |
The estimated maximum range for the 2025 Cadillac Celestiq is 303 miles on a full charge according to Canadian.figures A Level 2 charger can restore this charge in approximately 8 hours. Driving for 100 miles consumes 40 kWh, 44 kWh, or 42 kWh for city, highway, and combined ratings respectively.
Compared to the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq, the Celestiq is relatively less efficient than the three-row crossover. The Vistiq gets 94/78/87 MPGe for city, highway or combined driving. However, though the Celestiq consumes a bit more energy, range for the two models is similar, with the Vistiq getting 300 miles or 305 miles depending on its charger.
Matched up against the hard-charging 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V, the 2025 Cadillac Celestiq offers better MPGe ratings and greater range. City, highway and combined MPGe for the Lyriq-V is 87, 71 and 78, while range is 285 miles on a full charge, or 18 miles less than the Celestiq. The Lyriq-V hits 60 mph from a standstill faster at 3.3 seconds compared the Celestiq’s 3.7 seconds, while it also reaches full charge faster at about 7 hours.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Cadillac Optiq – intended as a compact entry-level all-electric crossover for Caddy’s lineup – is much more efficient than the Celestiq. The Optiq offers 112 MPGe in city driving, 94 MPGe on the highway and 102 MPGe combined. Nevertheless, it has almost exactly the same range per charge at 302 miles.
Under the body panels, the 2025 Cadillac Celestiq rides on the GM BEV3 platform while energy is supplied by a 111-kWh GM battery pack. The vehicle is hand-built at the GM Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan and is designed to be extraordinarily customizable,
