1960 Chevy C10 Gets First Wash In 20 Years, And You Could Win It: Video

The 1960 Chevy C10 marked the beginning of Chevrolet‘s first-generation C/K pickup line, introducing a fresh exterior design and a new independent front suspension. Known for its wide front grille and signature “eyebrow” hood, the 1960 C10 remains a highly sought-after classic among collectors and custom builders alike. Now, we’re watching this abandoned 1960 Chevy C10 get its first wash in decades – and one lucky viewer will end up taking it home.

In an extensive 30-minute video, WD Detailing brings this 1960 Chevy C10 back to life, going over every inch of the exterior and interior, and refreshing the mechanical bits as well. The truck originally came from Georgia and is mostly rust-free, with just 78,000 miles on the clock. Apparently, the previous owner’s father-in-law had planned to restore it, but never got around to it.

The WD team goes to Forza Automotive to address the mechanical restoration, which includes basics like changing the oil, spark plugs, and fuel filter, draining the old fuel, and making sure the engine can run smoothly.

Meanwhile, WD tackles the interior, installing fresh carpet and reupholstering the seat, while outside, the paint is restored using soft single-stage lacquer, while the chrome is polished to a fresh luster.

One of the most impressive upgrades is the custom truck bed, which is redone with new wooden slats using a technique called fractal wood burning, which produces lightning-like patterns in the wood using high-voltage electricity.

Other upgrades include new tires, new wiring, working lights, and a few other details.

After all the hard work, the truck runs and drives, and looks great while doing so. Now, the WD Detailing team will give this newly restored Chevy C10 to one lucky winner in a giveaway at the WD Auto Supply website, so check that out if you want to see this classic parked in your driveway.

  1. Had a ’60, half ton just like this (but V8/AT)…. accident brought a ’63 hood on as replacement, looked a lot better, but I’ll take this one if my entry tickets come through…. The WD Auto Supply website had me buying product to get tickets…. ok, but I’m not sure my entry tickets got into hopper after purchasing $40 worth of stuff… no way to check and somewhere I read there are only a few days before drawing. Hope it isn’t a scam. Tom Pinard ([email protected])

  2. Oh, should have added, that was in 1963……. it would be great to have this little reminded of my long past with hundreds, I mean hundreds, of cars, trucks and Corvettes under my belt at this point.
