We’re only a few weeks away from spring, but that doesn’t mean that some parts of the country aren’t still facing wintry conditions and slippery roads. In Dexter, Maine, one semi-truck driver was faced with a treacherous climb that proved to be too much for the heavy truck. Luckily, one Chevy Silverado was on the scene to help out.
A clip was recently posted to social media showing the Chevy Silverado helping the semi out on a snow-covered incline. The clip is less than 30 seconds long and appears as though it was captured by a bystander.
As the clip gets under way, we see the Chevy Silverado pickup hitched up to the front of the semi-truck. Snow is falling, covering the vehicles and the road underneath them. A police vehicle is seen nearby with its lights active. As for the Chevy, we see the front end of the pickup equipped with a snow plow, while a set of large fender flares line the wheel wells. Something tells us this isn’t the Silverado driver’s first rodeo when it comes to pulling vehicles out of a slippery situation.
We then see the Chevy Silverado slowly move forward as the driver in the semi releases the brake. The link connecting the two vehicles tightens, and in unison, the two vehicles start to move up the hill.
Progress is slow at first, as the Chevy Silverado driver wisely opts not to lay into the throttle and risk losing traction. Meanwhile, we see the semi applying the throttle as well, with some of its rear tires churning against the slick road surface. Gradually, the two vehicles move as one up the hill, and before long, we see them traveling down the street at a faster pace.
“Shout out to the young men from Ace hardware helping this semi driver get out of Main Street and up past the light,” the video caption reads. “He kept on backing up to get traction, and couldn’t get any.”
