Specialty Vehicles Engineering (SVE) has debuted the 2025 Sport Edition Supercharged GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, available with up to 1,000 horsepower. Rather than going the trendy off-road route, this truck leans into road and track performance with a powerful and stylish full-size SUV.
The supercharged 2025 Sport Edition Supercharged GMC Yukon and Yukon XL are only available through local GM dealerships in either 2WD or 4WD. SVE doesn’t specify trim availability, so it’s presumably available in conjunction with any Yukon variant.
There are three power levels on offer, including a 700-horsepower unit equipped with the 5.3L V8 L84, an 800-horsepower variant equipped with the 6.2L V8 L87, and a 1,000-horsepower beast with a 6.8L V8, presumably a bored-out L87. All of the above feature a blueprinted aluminum block, race-quality computer-balanced rotating assembly, forged twisted steel crankshaft, forged aluminum pistons, upgraded cylinder heads, and an SVE supercharger system. A custom stainless steel exhaust system is also included.
91 and 93 octane tunings are available across the board. The 91-octane tuning would make it easier to fill up with premium pump gas at most gas stations.
Additional upgrades include 22-inch wheels in gunmetal, satin black, or satin black with a red line stripe. They’re wrapped in Nitto performance tires. You also get Brembo 6-piston front brakes with 16.1-inch vented rotors. Other standard aesthetic upgrades include SVE badging and interior embroidery, a hood insert in gloss-finish body color with flat black louvers, badging indicating the horsepower rating on the hood insert and liftgate, and custom fender inserts.
A few additional options you can add to the package are a sport suspension system with a lowering kit, retractable side steps, a body-color paint package, and a black-out trim package.
Notably, SVE will only produce 50 units in each of the three configurations, or 150 units in total, of the 2025 Sport Edition Supercharged GMC Yukon and Yukon XL. Additionally, similar SVE performance packages are available for the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, with Yenko/SC branding, and the Cadillac Escalade, which SVE dubs the SXR Series.
Comments
For the “price-point”, this, IMHO, is a better package than the Escalade IQ…or any EV “V” derivative Cadillac decides to offer.
Longer Range, quicker fueling, known technology to repair, doesn’t weight 4+ tons, goes like stink….and simply sounds wonderful.
EV’s have their place, but they lack the “visceral fidelity” of an ICE.
Listen to a modern day FI car and then go listen to a BRM V10 or Ferrari V12 powering through the gears coming out of a corner… 😉
Oh please. Pass the barf bag. In THIS economy? People are still pandemic-brain-issues-crazy.
just say you can’t afford it, it’s fine – they’re only making 150 so not everyone needs to be able to afford it.
I don’t believe they are all spoken for.
the price is probably going to be the same as the escalade v. i would rather have the LT4 engine than the LS engine stronger bottom end.
I’m in the high-end side of the specialty/custom car biz, and my family has been in it since the late 1800s. Right now, my clientele are 5 years out doing high 6-figure and 7 figure builds. People in this country have plenty of money to spend on cars they love (ICE), regardless of what social and other media “experts” say.
This vehicle (like all SUVs of that size) with its very poor aerodynamics (high wind resistance) and probably 6,000+ lbs. curb weight is very unsafe to drive over 100 mph. This motor belongs in 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS. No mention of any warranty. I’ll take the Dodge Charger Hellcat over this vehicle any day, it’s safer to drive it over 100 mph than this vehicle.
Ohh yes the 4000lb car on a 25 year old mercedes chassis is much safer than the modern truck chassis at high speed…..chargers are totally known for there handling
It is safe to say you have never a Mercedes-Benz product, a 21st Century Mercedes-Benz chassis is never old in my opinion, I am a proud owner of a 2018 Dodge Charger GT Plus (V6/Awd) and a 2022 Chrysler 300S (5.7L V8) and have no regrets. Why don’t you do a back-to-back comparison of both vehicles? It’s also safe to say you have never driven a full-size SUV like this vehicle over 100 mph.
Wouldn’t be a bit surprised if you have no idea what aerodynamics is.
