SVE Launches 1,000-HP 2025 Sport Edition GMC Sierra Off-Road

Specialty Vehicles Engineering (SVE) has debuted the 2025 Sport Edition GMC Sierra Off-Road, available with up to 1,000 horsepower. While similar to SVE’s regular Sport Edition Sierra under the hood, this one leans into an off-road attitude rather than road and track performance.

The supercharged 2025 Sport Edition GMC Sierra Off-Road is only available through local GM dealerships. It is available in Crew Cab or Double Cab configurations with either the short bed or standard bed. Naturally, 4WD is mandatory.

There are three power levels on offer, including a 700-horsepower unit equipped with the 5.3L V8 L84, an 800-horsepower variant equipped with the 6.2L V8 L87, and a 1,000-horsepower beast with a 6.8L V8, presumably a bored-out L87. All of the above feature a blueprinted aluminum block, race-quality computer-balanced rotating assembly, forged twisted steel crankshaft, forged aluminum pistons, upgraded cylinder heads, and an SVE supercharger system. A custom stainless steel exhaust system is also included.

91 and 93 octane tunings are available across the board. The 91-octane tuning would make it easier to fill up with premium pump gas at most gas stations.

Additional upgrades include 20-inch wheels in black with a painted rim edge wrapped in Nitto off-road performance tires, a heavy-duty rear sway bar assembly, Brembo 6-piston front brake calipers with 16.1-inch vented rotors, and transmission upgrades for the 1,000-hp model.

Standard aesthetic upgrades include “Off Road” graphics on the bed, high-impact composite fender flares, a sport bar with an integrated high-mount stop lamp, “Sport Edition” badging and interior embroidery, a hood insert in gloss-finish body color with flat black louvers, badging indicating the horsepower rating on the hood insert and tailgate, and custom fender inserts.

This is a customizable off-roader with several options available in addition to the standard upgrades. The most notable is a BDS 4-inch lift kit with Fox performance shocks, heavy-duty traction bars, and bigger tires. Aesthetic options include black GMC emblems, “Off Road” splash graphics available in nine colors, LED lighting on the sport bar (either four lights or a light bar), and body-color bits on models that normally come with chrome. Retractable side steps are also available, which are advisable if you go with the lift kit.

Notably, SVE will only produce 50 units in each of the three configurations, or 150 units in total, of the 2025 Sport Edition GMC Sierra Off-Road.
