Lucky No. 13 Corvette Racing Team Ready For 2025 24 Hours Of Le Mans

AWA Racing is fired up for the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, taking its “lucky” No. 13 Corvette Racing Z06 GT3.R back to the crown jewel of international endurance racing in a few months’ time. The team recently announced its driver lineup for the event, bringing a winning trio to France.

Orey Fidani received an automatic invitation to the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans thanks to his performance in the 2024 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Fidani was the highest-scoring Bronze rated driver in the GTD class last year, racing his way into Le Mans this year.

Fidani will be joined by two other drivers in the No. 13 Corvette Racing machine, sharing seat time with Matt Bell and Lars Kern. And they’ve already proved they can win this year – they topped the GTD podium in the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January with help from fourth driver Marvin Kirchhöfer.

AWA’s No. 13 Corvette Racing trio will compete in the Le Mans GT3 (LMGT3) division at the race, which is scheduled for June 14th through 15th, 2025.

Corvette Racing won’t be the only General Motors-backed team on the Le Mans grid. Cadillac Racing is fielding four V-Series.R entries, having received an additional invitation for this year’s race. While they’ll be racing in different classes – the V-Series.R is a Hypercar class machine – they’ll share a track for the full 24-hour stint. The entire grid, meanwhile, consists of 62 unique entries.

Last year, the Corvette Racing teams didn’t have a great run at Le Mans. It was the first stint at the storied race track for the new Corvette Z06 GT3.R, so there were some growing pains throughout the event. The No. 82 Z06 GT3.R suffered clutch issues early in the race, putting them off the pace and ultimately finishing two laps down in 11th place. Its twin, the No. 81 Vette, experienced a power system issue that was eventually fixed, but left the team 10 laps down, finishing 15th.

  2. I was going to go to the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans. The National Corvette Museum’s Museum-in-motion has a trip scheduled. But this year they don’t have the Corvette Coral access. Additionally, their touring coach doesn’t have a restroom because the trips are short. So they claim. In any event, I wish the “lucky No. 13 Corvette” the best.
