Lane-Swerving Chevy Silverado Driver Loses Control, Slams Into Ditch: Video

A new dash cam video surfaced on social media this week showing a reckless driving incident involving a Chevy Silverado on a busy highway.

According to the video overlay, the incident occurred on March 21st, 2025, around 7:10 a.m. local time. The video is short, but manages to capture the Silverado weaving through traffic before losing control and crashing into a roadside ditch.

The footage is only 20 seconds long, and opens to show a multi-lane highway during the early morning commute, with headlights from surrounding vehicles illuminating the road ahead. Traffic flows steadily as drivers appear to be making their way to work.

A Chevy Silverado swerves between lanes.

Suddenly, a Chevy Silverado enters the frame, traveling at high speed and cutting between the dash cam vehicle and a nearby utility truck in the right lane. The Silverado appears to clip the rear bumper of the utility truck during the maneuver, then swerves sharply in front of the recording vehicle. The rear of the Silverado swings outward, with the rear tires losing grip shortly after the impact.

At the same moment, a sedan is seen speeding in the left lane, raising the possibility of street racing or a some sort of road rage encounter, although whether or not the sedan was involved in the incident remains unconfirmed.

Moments after clipping the utility truck, the Silverado driver fails to regain control and veers off the road, cutting back across the front of the utility truck. In the process, it looks as though the Silverado clips the utility truck a second time, and debris is seen littering the road while the utility truck activates its hazard lights before pulling off the roadway.

Meanwhile, the Silverado continues to slide before eventually crashing into a ditch. While the video cuts off before showing the pickup’s final condition, the user who uploaded the footage reports that the truck was totaled, and that the Silverado driver fled the scene on foot before emergency responders arrived.
