The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has given the all-new, third-gen 2025 Buick Enclave an overall crash test rating of “Good.” Most crash test results for the crossover returned a top “Good” rating, although a handful of exceptions seem to have kept the crossover from a spot on the IIHS Top Safety Pick list. One of the most noteworthy ratings was for the headlights, which were rated as “Marginal.”
The 2025 Buick Enclave performed well in all three crashworthiness tests, including the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, and side crash tests.
However, there were a few exceptions. For example, in the passenger-side small overlap front test, the structure and safety cage evaluation returned a rating of “Acceptable,” while the rear passenger head/neck and rear passenger restraints and dummy kinematics evaluations in the updated moderate overlap front test were also rated as “Acceptable.” In the updated side test, the structure and safety cage, as well as driver pelvis injury measure were also rated at “Acceptable.”

In the crash avoidance and mitigation tests, the front vehicle-to-vehicle system was given a “Good” rating, while the front pedestrian system was given an “Acceptable” rating.
One major drawback in the Enclave’s safety rating was its headlight performance, which was rated “Marginal.” The crossover features LED projector headlights across all trims, as well as high-beam assist technology, but it lacks curve-adaptive lighting and the low beams produced “some glare,” the combination of which likely contributed to the lower rating.
Interestingly, the Chevy Traverse, which shares the same platform and mechanical components as the Buick Enclave, managed to secure a Top Safety Pick rating, while the Buick Enclave did not. Meanwhile, the GMC Acadia received an “Acceptable” rating.
Under the hood, the 2025 Buick Enclave is powered by the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 engine, producing 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. The crossover rides on the GM C1 platform. Vehicle production takes place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.
