Under the hood, the 2026 Buick Encore GX offers two engine options. The standard powertrain is the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LBP engine, which produces 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The LBP is also compatible with E85 fuel, making the Encore GX a flex-fuel vehicle. For those seeking additional engine output, Buick also offers the optional turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T engine, which is rated at 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. However, unlike the base engine, the L3T does not support E85 fuel.
Built on GM’s VSS-F platform, the 2026 Buick Encore GX is manufactured at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea.
Comments
Hopefully GM doesn’t kill this model anytime soon.
I am sad that they are finally giving the Pontiac Aztek some competition. That has to be the ugliest vehicle I have ever seen. I drove Buicks for many years and loved them all. But they have gone somewhere else now for sure!
This maybe exempt from tariffs since it’s assembled in Korea which would be a real plus. I like how Buick has adopted a real fresh, modern design that brings the model lineup a real eye-catching aesthetic. Compared to what I see from Japanese and Korean automakers, Buicks look totally upscale. Although I’d prefer a more powerful I4 engine, I see that for its segment, 3 cylinder engines are the norm. When do ’26 models reach dealers since ’25 Avenir models are few and far between in my area.
