Here Is 2025 Buick Model Parts Content By Country

General Motors sources a significant portion of vehicle components from outside the United States, even for those models that are assembled domestically. Now, with new and looming tariffs on steel, aluminum, and automotive parts introduced under by the Trump administration, automakers are closely evaluating their supply chains to assess the potential impact on production costs. With that in mind, we’re taking a closer look at the 2025 Buick model lineup and the parts content breakdown by country.

The 2025 Buick Enclave.

First up is the 2025 Enclave, which is assembled at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan and incorporates 36 percent of its parts from the U.S. and Canada. An additional 24 percent of its components originate from Mexico, including the engine. The transmission, meanwhile, is sourced from the United States.

Meanwhile, the Encore GX is built in South Korea, and, unsurprisingly, gets 48 percent of its parts from South Korea. U.S./Canada parts content makes up only 2 percent, while 23 percent of the components come from Mexico. Models equipped with the L3T engine source their powerplant from South Korea, with transmissions coming from Mexico, while LBP engine variants source their engine from Mexico.

Moving on, the 2025 Envision is produced in China, and its parts content reflects that, with 88 percent of components sourced from Chinese suppliers. Meanwhile, 8 percent of parts come from the U.S. and Canada, the engine built in Mexico, and the transmission is sourced from China.

Finally, the Envista is another South Korea-built model and follows a similar parts-sourcing pattern to the Encore GX, with 52 percent of its components from South Korea and 23 percent from Mexico. U.S./Canada parts content is slightly higher than the Encore GX at 3 percent. The Envista sources its engine from Mexico, while the transmission is built in South Korea.

Buick Parts Content Percentage
U.S. / Canada Mexico South Korea China Final Assembly Engine Transmission / Drive Unit
2025 Buick Enclave 36 24 - - USA Mexico USA
2025 Buick Encore GX with L3T engine 2 23 48 - Korea Korea Mexico
2025 Buick Encore GX with LBP engine 2 23 48 - Korea Mexico Mexico
2025 Buick Envision 8 - - 88 China Mexico China
2025 Buick Envista 3 23 52 - Korea Mexico Korea

These figures highlight how integrated the global economy is, in particular between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico under the USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement). Notably, the totals in the parts content percentages listed above do not add up to 100 percent, indicating that some components originate from other countries not listed here.

Taking a step back, regardless of where a vehicle is assembled, any tariffs, whether they be on raw materials like steel and aluminum, imported components, or fully assembled vehicles, will impact costs. As such, automakers will likely need to adjust pricing strategies, and, as a result, pass these added costs on to consumers.

  1. Buick is a communist focused company

    1. I agree. Let the Communists have them.

  2. Envision is a nice vehicle but 88 percent Chinese content and u want Americans to purchase. Not very smart sales marketing. I would be interested if it was made anywhere else. Sorry gm

  3. In all fairness, Buick was the brand of choice by Chinese government officials before the Communists took over in 1949. Having said that, I would buy only the Enclave if I ever chose another Buick. Realize too that other GM products have Chinese-built components–as do most every other make of car available in this country, You need to see more of these content listings before pulling the trigger on ANY new vehicle…

If it’s that important to you, buy a Tesla. They are like 65 to 75 percent. One of the most American cars you can get.

  4. Love the red, white & blue emblems on these Buicks though. Wonder where they are made?

  5. The same commenters who lament the price of new vehicles also complain that they aren’t made in the US with mostly US content. The cheapest Envista would be at least $10,000 more if it was made in the US with mostly US content. It seems no matter how hard you try to explain to some people how much lower their standard of living would be if we did not have a globalized supply chain for manufactured goods, they just can’t seem to comprehend. Everyone wins from trade where nations play to their strengths, the US strengths are technology, education, business services and medicine. Cost in the US are far to high to compete in labor intensive manufacturing. There is a labor shortage and there are plenty of service and logistics jobs available in the US for lower skilled workers.

See the world as it is, not as you wish it to be.
