GM To Fix 2025 Chevy Equinox Rear View Camera Flickering Issue

The 2025 Chevy Equinox is the subject of a new Service Bulletin from General Motors regarding a problem in which the rear view camera display flickers momentarily in some situations.

The Service Bulletin, number N242489350, seems to indicate the problem is actually interference from the vehicle’s radio rather than a problem with the Rear View Camera itself.

GM instructs dealership personnel to fix affected 2025 Chevy Equinox units by reprogramming the radio, a process that takes about 1.5 hours including verification of the issue. The remedy is to be applied to Chevy Equinox crossovers brought to the dealership by their owner for any reason, as well as units currently in inventory. The fix is available until the end of the vehicle’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty period.

GM launched the all-new fourth generation of the crossover with the advent of the 2025 Chevy Equinox. The new generation debuts the Activ trim level for the vehicle, along with bigger exterior dimensions. Length, width, and wheelbase have all increased for the 2025 model year. The exterior gets new, rugged truck-inspired styling and the shark-fin style C-pillar treatment that is becoming a Chevy signature.

The overhauled cockpit is headlined by an 11-inch diagonal driver information center and an 11.3-inch infotainment screen. Safety tech includes, but is not limited to, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure. Pricing ranges from a starting MSRP of $29,995 for the FWD LT trim to $36,395 for both the Activ and range-topping RS trims in AWD.

As a reminder, motivation is supplied to the 2025 Equinox by one powerplant across all trims – the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine. Output is rated at 175 horsepower. Torque output is 184 pound-feet when the crossover is configured with front-wheel drive, rising to 203 pound-feet when all-wheel drive is equipped.

The fourth-gen Equinox rides on the GM D2 platform under the body panels, with production taking place at the GM San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico.

  4. Why not offer real meat by saying WHAT they are reprogramming in the radio? Since you can’t just tell a radio “Don’t put out any EMI”, I really want to know exactly what they changed.

  5. Put a decent sound system like Bose or JBL even as a option. Radio interference is a 1970s problem a bad joke in 2025
