GM Releases Fix For 2025 Chevy Corvette Contaminated Front Lift System

The 2025 Chevy Corvette is the subject of a new Service Update from The General, with a fix available for an issue in which the fluid in the front lift system is contaminated with unspecified “debris.”

According to GM Service Update number N242484110, a remedy is available for affected 2025 Chevy Corvette units through the end of each vehicle’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty period.

The Service Update notes that debris is present inside the front lift system of certain Chevy Corvette units as part of the problem. The exact number of units affected is unclear at this time. However, it is likely fairly low since GM notes that parts needed for the fix are in limited supply and dealers shouldn’t order them as shelf stock, only ordering the components when an actually affected Vette is located.

To complete the repair, dealership service personnel are instructed to replace both front shock absorbers entirely, which also requires replacement of several fittings and bolts. The front lift system also needs to be flushed and filled with new, clean brake fluid. The fix is to be applied to 2025 Corvette units brought to the dealership for any reason by their owners, as well as any affected Vettes verified to be currently in the dealer’s inventory.

As a reminder, motivation for the 2025 Chevy Corvette differs according to variant. The 2025 Stingray is propelled by the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine rated at 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, the Z06 cradles the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the E-Ray utilizes the aforementioned LT2 engine plus a front-mounted electric motor adding up to 655 horsepower.

The new C8 Corvette ZR1 is set to debut in summer with the twin-turbocharged 5.5L V8 LT7 engine under the hood, cranking out a rubber-burning 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 828 pound-feet of torque at 6,000 rpm.

All variants of the Corvette continue to be underpinned by the GM Y2 platform beneath the skin for the 2025 model year. Production is carried out exclusively at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

  1. This article make no sense. I have a 2025 E-Ray. Is this a recall? Do I wait for the front lift system to fail or do I take it into the dealership?

    1. DrPiz: From past experience what they are saying is if you like it just like it is don’t do anything. Saves them time and money. But from what it cost you to buy it, better make an appointment.

    2. The way I understand it, any 2025 brought into the dealership for any reason will have the fix applied. I’d take it in for an oil change and let them fix it. 2. Is there ANY issue GM will fix before selling a vehicle anymore or just push the junk out the door hoping they don’t get caught?

  4. Oh my gosh another freaking recall? You recall on a 25 Corvette but you haven’t recalled my 24 Silverado for the crappy transmission. Why is it that Chevy is recalling so many cars when all the other automakers are limited if any at all?

  5. I wouldn’t have my dealership try and fix a sandwich. Their staffing is a revolving door of Neanderthals. If it was up to me, I would have GM ship me the parts, and I would do the work myself. That’s exactly what I did with my free oil change.

  6. After 5yrs, ya think they’d have a way to build a “recall free” car–even for a year !!!!! Mine has been in 3000 mode for months so hope they fix it at the factory before they install mine. Hope I get my 2025 S/R order (from November) before the 2030’s come out. LOL

  7. If the recalls don’t stop the NTSB (that is if TRUMP has fired the current bunch) something bad is going to come down on GMs head.
