GM Execs Drive First Production 2026 Cadillac Vistiq Off The Assembly Line: Video

GM unveiled the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq in November of last year, showing off an all-new, all-electric, three-row crossover that slots underneath the Cadillac Escalade IQ with regard to Cadillac’s all-electric vehicle lineup. Starting under the $80,000 mark, production of the 2026 Vistiq got under way on February 17th, 2025 at the GM Spring Hill Assembly plant in Tennessee, the same facility that produces all-electric Cadillac Lyriq. Now, we’re watching as a pair of prominent GM executives takes a ride in the very first 2026 Cadillac Vistiq to roll off the assembly line.

In a recent post to social media, GM Executive Vice President of Global Manufacturing, JP Clausen, shared a video that captures his ride-along with GM President Mark Reuss in the first production Vistiq at the GM Spring Hill Assembly plant shortly after the all-electric crossover was produced. According to Reuss, the first unit will be delivered to a customer in Washington.

“You know, I work on things really early in their life when they’re still in clay,” Reuss says. “It’s really fun to see this come to life here and the quality that the Spring Hill team has brought to it.”

“The ‘Baby Escalade’ demonstrates that big things come in small packages and showcases our team’s ability to deliver another great choice for our customers,” Clausen writes.

  1. And the morons will sell 100 more (if that) and then that will be it.

    1. This is going to be a BIG seller. Check the Lyriq it’s the 2nd best selling Cadillac and it just got into full swing last year.

      1. The only reason they are selling is because it has a really CHEAP lease.

        2. Who cares why it sold? It sold and that’s all that matters. Why do you seem to want Cadillac to fail? Some of you are just weird.

  2. They’re selling hundreds of Escalade IQs a week but will have trouble selling Vistiqs for $50k less? That makes sense.

    1. They just try to denounce any EV they see… they don’t like seeing them get popular.

  3. GM is completely off the mark with their car lines. The focus on expensive electric vehicles will likely cause them to loose a lot of money. Let’s hope the taxpayers don’t end up bailing them out again.

  4. Be interesting to be see the “price delta” between these in 3 years once they come off leases….and a new 2029 model.

  5. Is this a Hyundai? Go back to Fleetwoods, Sedan and Coupe De Villes with any color or seat. Tons of selections. One even could pick out the seat belt buckles and colors. I want a car with a bench seat that floats.

  6. If this was a non plug in Hybrid, I would be a buyer. All electric, no way.

    1. Put a gas engine in the back. Problem solved!

  7. If this is a “Baby Escalade”, it sure is one fat baby, weighing in at well over three tons.

The regular Escalade weighs 5,807 and this “baby” purportedly weighs 6,326 pounds. Of course the Escalade IQ-L tips the scales at 9,134 so in terms of fat, GM makes ‘em even fatter. MT called the IQ-L the heaviest vehicle they’ve ever tested and they’ve been at it since 1949.

These things are all so irresponsible. The true environmentalists driving a Civic are going to be completely run over and crushed by these obese “green” monsters GM is putting out there for all the faux environmentalists.

It’ll be the equivalent of the one guy who stands up at a stadium forcing everyone to stand up. If GM starts selling these things en masse, pretty soon we’ll all have to drive 7,500 pound behemoths just to have a fighting chance of living though an accident.

    1. I don’t think any of these customers care about any environmental aspects, I’d say it’s one-upsmanship/status, convenience (not having to bother with gas or oil), and the sheer performance/smooth driving. I think those that can afford these things are going to come out of the woodwork.

      1. …think that’s the goal.

    2. But when war begins between Israel and Gaza, those big electrics will keep running (some for free) and all the obsolete gassers will be parked or paying thousands of dollars for a tank of gasoline.

      1. GM Owner,

Isn’t there already a war between Israel and Gaza? Technically it’s the militant group Hamas on the Gaza side but that conflict has been going on since October of ‘23 and I don’t see what any of that has to do with electric cars in the USA. I’m pretty sure we don’t import oil from either place but if we did, we have plenty of domestic oil to offset the minuscule supply theoretically coming from those lands were it to be interrupted.

I don’t understand your comment at all.

  8. Finally saw an Escalade IQ in the wild yesterday. It is an imposing monster of a vehicle, seemingly even more so than the ICE version. So much better looking than any Tesla, especially inside. Here’s an interior analogy: Escalade IQ = opulent Michelin star restaurant. Tesla= tv tray frozen dinner.

    1. Sales guy was showing me all around one in the showroom while I was there checking on my Optiq order and all I could do was laugh and shake my head — there’s no one that needs one of these tanks.

      1. I should have specified I was commenting on the IQ behemoth, I have long thought there needed to be something smaller than the Escalade and the Vistiq looks perfect. If I were back in the needing to ferry kids and equipment phase of life I’d seriously consider it.

  9. Before considering ice or ev , consider the actual carbon footprint. If you don’t care then don’t be sanctimonious. Both require fossil fuel.
