Corsa Performance Working On Cadillac CT5-V Active Valve Exhaust System: Video

With the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY gasoline engine under the hood, the Cadillac CT5-V already makes some great noises right out of the box. Nevertheless, some folks will inevitably want more aural excitement from their sports sedan. To that end, Corsa Performance is now working on a new active valve exhaust system for the Cadillac CT5-V.

Corsa posted a video demonstrating the new exhaust system in action, letting us listen in to the idle, revs, and sound of the exhaust under acceleration. The video includes the stock exhaust, both with the valves closed and open, and the new Corsa exhaust, both with closed and open valves.

Although the video isn’t terribly dramatic, it does demonstrate some of the sound differences between the two exhaust systems. As expected, the new Corsa exhaust provides a throatier, louder tone, as well as some nice pops and burbles between shifts, especially with the valves open.

Check out the full sound comparison video below:

For now, Corsa states that its new CT5-V active exhaust system is “coming soon,” with no clear timeline on when it may be available, or how much it might cost. That said, Corsa currently offers an exhaust upgrade for the supercharged CT5-V Blackwing, which is available with custom options like quad carbon fiber tips. Pricing for the Corsa CT5-V Blackwing exhaust starts at $2,499.

As covered previously, Corsa also offers an active exhaust system for the CT4-V Blackwing, which also offers a few different styling options. Pricing for the Corsa CT4-V Blackwing exhaust also starts at $2,499.

Under the hood, the Cadillac CT5-V is equipped as standard with the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY gasoline engine, which is rated at 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. No word on whether or not the new Corsa exhaust will increase output compared to the standard exhaust system.

Under the skin, all Cadillac CT5 and CT4 variants ride on the GM Alpha 2 platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

  • Corsa sport. Best exhaust out there. It is pricey, but worth every penny when u start your vehicle. Love it on my 18 Denali 6.2

  • Factory exhaust valves open almost sounds better than Corsa with valves open? Maybe it sounds different in person?

    • Uumm no it doesn't. I have had 4 K2 trucks. 2 opening up the little flapper, didn't make much of a difference. 1 with the Gibson sport exhaust( nice exhaust) and now this one with Corsa Sport. I also had it on my 2019 T1 high country. Intoxicating! Whole nother experience of exhaust sound. Their exhaust is worth every penny!

  • $2400 for an exhaust system. I wait until mine falls off, then I go to my buddies muffler shop. I have never spent more than $300 there. Sometimes he has used flow master mufflers on sale, because the prior customer thought them to be too loud. His loss, my gain.

    • What makes me laugh is people complaining about a $2400 exhaust that has a million miles warranty, yet don't complain when the price of vehicles have almost doubled. Reason because they see cars of what they THINK they can afford as a PAYMENT per month! But don't have CASH saved up to pay for an exhaust. Makes me laugh. If you don't have $2400 you probably know shouldn't be buying a $50k, $60k, $70k, $80k or higher new vehicle.

But hey, this is why we are trillion dollars in debt with credit cards, delinquencies at all time high with late car and house payments, and upside down on car loans. Doesn't surprise me one bit.
