Chevy Suburban Tows Massive RV, Big Rat Catches A Ride: Video

A bizarre video recently hit the web capturing a Chevy Suburban towing a massive RV in a rather precarious setup. To add a twist of the weird, the short clip also shows a large rat hopping aboard the RV for the ride.

The clip is just under 30 seconds long and was recently posted to social media, apparently filmed in Oakland, California.

Chevy Suburban towing an RV.

Shot by another motorist using their phone, the footage begins with a Chevy Suburban carefully pulling out into traffic, dragging an oversized RV using what appears to be a questionable tow strap setup. The SUV and RV make their way across multiple lanes at a stoplight, with other drivers waiting as the unusual caravan inches into an adjacent turning lane.

Right away, the towing situation looks less than ideal. Panels on the RV appear to be falling apart as the Chevy Suburban drags the massive vehicle forward. Luckily, it looks as though there’s at least someone inside the RV steering, but the sight of the panels breaking off in traffic raises more than a few concerns.

Suddenly, in an unexpected twist, the video captures a large rat sprinting along the side of the RV, seemingly seizing an opportunity to hitch a ride. The rodent scurries up to one of the RV’s open panels, narrowly avoiding one of the massive wheels before skillfully hopping onto a loose, dragging component as the RV continues moving forward.

Despite the chaotic scene, the rat looks as though it avoids getting crushed, disappearing into a gap in the RV. Whether the rodent was already inside the RV or simply took the opportunity to jump on is unknown, but it adds an extra layer of absurdity to an already questionable towing job.

“Little guy’s just trying to catch his bus to work,” quips one commenter. “Glad he made it!”
