Competitive Sales Comparison (USA)
The Chevy Equinox EV (see running Chevy Equinox EV sales) placed first here, recording over 18K deliveries during Q4 2024 in just its third quarter on sale. That result is almost double the sales volume over the previous quarter, when it also led.
NOTE: In this updated sales report, we’ve expanded the list of EV competitors to include models often cross-shopped against Chevy’s compact all-electric crossover. Sometimes vehicle sizes don’t neatly fit in an exact space, and so this segment now adds compact-plus models to compact ones initially included in past analyses. Ironically, the three additional compact-plus entries beat out the compact ones, but the Equinox EV still outpaced all comers as GM’s best-selling EV.
Following in second now, the Ford Mustang Mach-E (see running Ford Mustang Mach-E sales) posted a 36 percent bump in sales moving 16,119 units. The two platform mates from Hyundai-Kia were up next, as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 took third with sales leaping 77 percent to 9,487 units, and the Kia EV6 placed fourth with a 40 percent swell to 5,730 units. Meanwhile, Toyota bZ4X sales were up 76 percent for 4,993 deliveries to round out the new top five. The Nissan Ariya posted a 30 percent uptick to 4,901 unts, while the dated Nissan Leaf saw sales rise 170 percent to 3,645 units. Finally, the Subaru Solterra moved 3,310 units with sales up six percent. The bZ4X and Solterra were developed jointly by Toyota and Subaru, sharing the same platform.

About Chevrolet Equinox EV
The 2025 Chevy Equinox EV arrives with an overhauled trim level lineup aimed at simplification. It won’t offer this paint color, yet it gets more horsepower and torque and a range increase. The all-electric compact crossover can tow 1,500 pounds when equipped with all-wheel drive.
Here are the 2025 Equinox EV paint colors, the interior colorways, and the available wheels.
Notably, testing shows that the Equinox EV is not very energy efficient in winter even though it offers a heat pump.
Production of the 2026 Chevy Equinox EV is currently scheduled to begin on July 14th.

Should compare to Ionic 5 as well
Still, as is typical, posting this drivel about Q4 on the last day of Q1.
I really hope no one is forcing you to read, let alone comment.
Earth to Beachy… you are invalidating your own point. It’s the last day of Q1 which means that Q1 numbers are still in the making and therefore not yet available. So the relevant topic is still Q4 because the Q1 numbers aren’t in yet. Hellloooo
Beachy rarely makes sense.
What about Mustang Mach-E, Ioniq 5, VW ID4? Who determines these competitors?
GMA always seems to have weird sets of “competition” in these articles.
IMO it is the better of all of those listed too. And Beachy29579 needs to quit being such a Debbie Downer all the time lol.
Goes to show that if a thing is pretty enough, all flaws will be forgotten. For a certain amount of time. Then, when the glare lights the corners, all bets are off.
When the Camaro had such dismal sales figures executives decided to ditch it …
A quarter is not one year.
The last few model YEARS of the Camaro averaged in the mid-20,000 to low 30,000 unit range.
One quarter of Equinox EV sold more than half of the Camaro’s average yearly sales.
And Equinox EV sales are still ramping up.
Also surprising to have Canada be almost 50% of sales … do Canadians love EVs more or what is going on
Good incentives, higher gas prices, lower electricity rates, less politicized.
Those incentives ran out early in Q1 so the numbers will be very different.
Canadians like value. The Equinox is the most affordable EV that still has adequate room ane range. Plus we are turning against Tesla.
This vehicle would sell even that much better if it had better charging speeds.
150kW is just not good enough.
Otherwise, great overall vehicle by GM
peak rates don’t tell the whole story. Tesla advertises high peaks, but they only apply at low state of charge and don’t hold them very long.
I’ve done route planning between my old Model 3 and my new NoxEV, and it is estimating only a few minutes (5-10) difference in total charge times for each stop.
