Chevy Colorado Takes A Dip And Gets Really Stuck: Video

Off-roading and mudding can be a ton of fun, but such activities aren’t without with their risks – something this Chevy Colorado driver found out the hard way after submerging their truck in some deep, murky water.

Fortunately, a fellow off-roader with a winch was on hand to help pull the vehicle back onto solid ground, but not before the rescue was captured on video.

A Chevy Colorado is rescued from a mud pit.

The video begins with the white Chevy Colorado already partially submerged, its front end rising into the air while the rear is nearly completely covered in muddy water. A Toyota FJ Cruiser stationed on the shore is seen using a winch to pull the stranded Colorado to safety, while a group of onlookers watches with phones at the ready.

Despite being submerged, bubbles rise from the truck’s exhaust, indicating that the engine is still running. As the winch slowly reels in the pickup, the front end continues to rise, suggesting a steep drop-off hidden beneath the water – one the driver likely didn’t anticipate.

At one point, the Chevy Colorado tips to one side, leaving the front wheels suspended in midair. Two bystanders quickly step in, with one pushing against the tilted side, and the other climbing onto the passenger-side door frame to weigh it down, helping to level the truck as the winch continues pulling.

Eventually, the Colorado is dragged onto dry land, sending gallons of murky water gushing out of the truck bed. When the driver opens the door, even more muddy water spills out, confirming just how deep the poor Chevy had sunk.

Perhaps the most surprising revelation? This particular Chevy Colorado appears to be a two-wheel-drive LT, making it a somewhat questionable choice for deep mudding adventures. Without four-wheel traction, it seems almost inevitable that this pickup would end up lodged into the soft ground.

Despite the recovery efforts, it remains uncertain what sort of damage was done. Something tells us this ride is going to need more than a few air fresheners.
