About Chevrolet BrightDrop
GM continues to expand the BrightDrop’s capabilities with the launch of the forthcoming 2026 model year. As previously reported, the 2026 Chevy BrightDrop lineup will introduce a third battery option, namely a 16-module pack providing 206 miles of range, slotting between the Standard Range 14-module pack with 176 miles of range and the Max Range 20-module pack with 286 miles of range.
Motor performance remains unchanged for the 2026 model year. Units of the BrightDrop 400 and 600 equipped with front-wheel drive continue to incorporate a single-motor powertrain setup generating 233 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, Chevy BrightDrop variants equipped with a dual-motor system dole out upwards of 300 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque.
Production of the 2026 Chevy BrightDrop will get under way in July at the GM CAMI Assembly plant in Ontario, Canada.

Comments
Say what you’re saying, is the price of a new Silverado is going up.
Instead of deciding to build more of these loss leaders in July, maybe build MORE Express/Savana vans instead. Every Express/Savana built (barring cutaway/chassis cab), sells almost instantly.
That would make too much sense 🙄
i think there is a market for this van.
Service industry here. We’ve had customers call with their facilities down and about to lose millions in perishables. What do we tell them? “We’ll be right there after we charge the vans up”??
Thanks but don’t need these at any rebate.
With $25k off, your at $55k. Their website says some are still eligible for a $7500 federal credit. They shipped a bunch to the USA to beat the tariffs so there is an even bigger glut on the lots. With the federal credit, you could get one brand new in the $40s. Maybe even in the high $30s if you find a dealer desperate to unload one. I don’t see “delivery van” here. I see a blank slate for a customized AWD RV. It is actually a bit tempting.
Agree 100%!
Commercial van and such work vehicle should be rear-wheel-drive not front-wheel-drive based like the Brightdrop!
Ok, it’s obvious that it won’t sell as is, it’s time to ditch the batteries and put that body on a Silverado HD chassis with a Duramax and an Allison transmission. They could even offer the shorter model on a half ton chassis with a Baby Duramax, it would make a great bread truck. As I’ve said before these bodies would make great RV conversions.
