Chevrolet Chile Sales Down One Percent In January 2025

Chevrolet Chile sales decreased one percent to 1,632 units in January 2025. The figures place Chevrolet as the country’s fifth best-selling automobile brand during the month, behind Suzuki, Kia, Toyota and Hyundai.

Chilean auto sales figures are limited since reporting only shows the best-selling models in each segment. As such, no sales data is available for vehicles that sell in lower volumes. Nevertheless, individual Chevy model sales performance (for models for which sales data is available) was as follows:

In addition to the models specified, Chevrolet also markets the following vehicles in Chile:

The GM Authority Take

After a healthy increase in December, Chevrolet Chile sales began the new calendar year with a slight drop, furthering the brand’s difficulties in the South American country. Although Chevy maintained stable volume on an annual basis, the negative performance resulted in the brand losing market share, falling to fifth place among the country’s best-sellers during the month.

Although the majority of Chevrolet Chile models saw growth in January, the overall balance was lower by only 23 units on a year-over-year basis due to lower sales of two models that had particularly high performance. These are the Chevy Tracker and Chevy Onix, which failed to appear on the sales list for the first month of 2025. For this reason, it can be deduced that these vehicles are primarily responsible for the brand’s overall drop.

Meanwhile, the Chevy Groove continues its recovery in the Chilean market, posting a four percent increase in January to reinforce its position as the brand’s best-selling model in the country. In fact, the Groove stood out as the most popular utility vehicle in the broader Chilean auto market by a considerable margin. Meanwhile, the new Chevy Sail also saw a healthy increase in registrations during the month, continuing its battle to regain popularity among local customers.

Finally, the Chevy Colorado performed well and the Chevy Silverado registered the highest rate of increase.
