The C8 Corvette E-Ray is already a powerhouse, boasting over 650 horsepower thanks to its hybrid-assisted 6.2L V8 LT2Â gasoline engine. However, for those who crave even more power, Callaway Cars has introduced a supercharger upgrade that takes the E-Ray to impressive new heights – 847 horsepower, to be exact. Not only that, but the new blower will fit the C8 Stingray, as well.
At the heart of the upgrade is a 2.9L twin-screw Gen4 supercharger, which is paired with a TripleCooled air-to-liquid intercooler and Callaway’s proprietary CalCal engine tuning. The supercharger system bumps output to 687 horsepower and 643 pound-feet of torque, which, when combined with the E-Ray’s 160-horsepower electric motor, results in an estimated total of 847 horsepower.
Callaway’s supercharger kit is also compatible with the C8 Corvette Stingray, which shares the same 6.2L LT2 V8 as the E-Ray. With the supercharged fitted to the Stingray, Callaway claims a run to 60 mph in 2.67 seconds and a quarter mile time of 10.64 seconds at 129 mph.
Both Coupe and Convertible versions of the E-Ray and Stingray are compatible with the upgrade.
Despite its immense power boost, Callaway states that the supercharger requires just one horsepower to drive, ensuring minimal fuel efficiency losses. The CalCal powertrain management system also retains all of the OEM sensors, actuators, and control modules, while the upgrade is compliant with federal and state emissions regulations, including California CARB certification.
Each supercharger upgrade includes a leather-bound authenticity certificate, exclusive Callaway badging, and a three-year / 36,000-mile limited warranty, which runs concurrently with GM’s factory warranty.
Beyond the power upgrade, Callaway also offers an array of additional customization options, such as:
- Widebody kit
- Signature Double-D exhaust system
- Forged nine-spoke wheels
- Chassis upgrades
- Custom graphics packages
- Reservations & Availability
Callaway is now accepting reservations for the supercharged Corvette E-Ray, asking for a $1,000 deposit to secure an order. Vehicles equipped with Callaway modifications are available exclusively through authorized Callaway Chevy dealerships across North America, and cannot be purchased from Callaway directly.
Comments
This would be a great street car, especially packaged into a Camaro!
I also read that Callaway was looking at a hydraulic clutch install to replace the actuated clutch plates in a Tremec 8 speed, along with install a linkage to manually shift. Finally bringing what every race car driver in the world knows is true, manually shifting is always better.
But! Not FASTER.
