Exactly five months after the model’s global debut in the Latin American country, the brand-new 2025 Chevy Express Max Van is officially arriving in Mexico.

General Motors has just launched the brand-new 2025 Chevy Express Max in Mexico as the newest member of the Chevrolet commercial vehicle family in the country, where the bowtie brand offers the widest line of vans worldwide, ranging from the subcompact Chevy Tornado Van to the all-new, fully electric Chevy BrightDrop. As such, the 2025 Express Max expands the range in the midsize segment with a unique proposition.

“Express Max is the new Chevrolet commercial van that offers innovation in design, space and performance designed to drive the business of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs,” said Chevrolet Mexico in a statement. “Thanks to its design with stylized lines, unique in the segment, its versatility and great load capacity, an efficient powertrain and smart equipment, it is the ideal option for commercial customers,” the brand added.

Notably, the brand-new 2025 Chevy Express Max is an all-new addition to Chevrolet’s portfolio with no relation to the full-size Chevy Express, and is the product of GM’s partnership with SAIC Motor in China. As GM Authority reported in October, the 2025 Express Max is based on the Maxus V70 Cargo Van that the Chinese company manufactures in the Asian country. Mexico is the first global market for the model wearing the Chevy logo.

Mechanically, the 2025 Chevy Express Max is powered by a turbodiesel 2.0L I4 engine with an output of 167 horsepower and 276 pound-feet of torque coupled exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission. It stands out for being the brand’s only commercial van offering a diesel powertrain, as well as for its payload capacity of 1,295 kg or 2,855 pounds and a volume of 8.3 cubic meters or 293 cubic feet in the cargo area.

The brand-new 2025 Chevy Express Max is now available for sale throughout the extensive network of official Chevrolet dealers in Mexico, where it was launched in a single cargo van variant with a comprehensive list of safety and technology equipment. The midsize van is offered in the Mexican market in three colors including White, Black and Silver. The new 2025 Express Max is priced at 758,100 pesos, or approximately $37,270 USD at the current exchange rate.

  1. The Maxus is only about $20k in China. I wonder what exactly makes the Chevrolet branded one (which looks basically identical) cost so much more in Mexico?

  2. So why isn’t it being built in a heavier duty version and sold in North America?
    Are we nothing?
I guess we have been loyal Chev drivers for only 85 years.

  3. “Three colors including White, Black and Silver”

Which is all you need for cargo vans, and even then 90% could be white.

Compare to the ~22 paints “available” for the current Express. I can see GM cooperating if a large fleet comes in and says “We’ll take 10,000 if you make them in this color”. But for dealer allocation wonder if GM even builds anything besides white.
