If you’re looking to upgrade your Chevy Silverado or Chevy Colorado with a set of handsome off-road-ready wheels, American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) now offers the Salta XR as a standalone item. The Salta XR is engineered to handle tough terrain while enhancing both performance and aesthetics. In addition to meeting the demands of serious off-roaders, these wheels are equipped as standard equipment on the GMC Sierra AT4X AEV Edition and GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition straight from the factory. Now, the Salta XR is available to order straight from AEV.
The AEV Salta XR wheels feature a race-inspired 12-spoke design, which looks great while also providing extra strength for off-road durability. The wheels also incorporate AEV’s recessed valve stems for increased protection from errant bits of terra firma.
The wheels are available in either Satin Black or Onyx finishes, both of which incorporate a subtle “SALTA XR” laser-engraved graphic.
Designed to fit the 2023-and-newer Chevy Colorado and 2019-and-newer Chevy Silverado 1500 vehicles, the Salta XR wheels are sized at 17 inches in diameter and 8.5 inches in width, with an offset of +12mm and backspacing of 5.34 inches. The bolt pattern is set at 6×139.7.
According to AEV, the Salta XR has undergone SAE J2530 testing, including radial fatigue, cornering load, and curb impact tests, in order to ensure overall durability, with an overall load rating of 2,400 pounds. The wheels are manufactured from A356-T6 aluminum. AEV also notes that the Salta XR wheels are produced in Italy, as production for aftermarket cast wheel in the U.S. remains limited.
These wheels are also designed to fit OEM lug nuts and wheel locks, making installation somewhat straightforward, and they include a lifetime structural warranty and a one-year finish warranty.
Pricing is set at $299 per wheel, per AEV’s website.
