AEV (American Expedition Vehicles) has a long history of collaboration with General Motors, offering factory off-roaders like the GMC Sierra AT4X AEV Edition, Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison, Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison, and GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition. Now, AEV is offering its stamped steel off-roader front bumper for 2024-and-newer GMC Sierra HD models as a standalone item.
The AEV bumper is engineered for enhanced off-road durability and functionality, and is compatible with all Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD trims and configurations, including gasoline- and diesel-powered variants. Notably, this bumper is the same unit equipped by the GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition, giving Sierra HD owners the opportunity to upgrade their trucks with factory-approved off-road gear.
Among the many features on offer is easy winch compatibility, with AEV designing the front bumper to fit the COMEUP SOLO 12.5rs GMF winch when paired with AEV’s Winch Install Kit. Additionally, the bumper features integrated tow points, providing strong and reliable recovery options for off-road and heavy-duty applications, plus fog lights, a block heater connection, and a full wire harness
AEV promises a seamless, bolt-on installation, with common hand tools and roughly six hours needed for the install. The bumper also comes with the necessary mounting and reinforcement brackets, as well as wheel liner trim templates to provide a factory-style fit and finish.
The AEV bumper includes a multi-stage E-coat and powder-coat finish, protecting against corrosion. For those looking to enhance nighttime visibility, the bumper also supports the addition of an LED light bar, though pre-drilled holes are not included.
Pricing for AEV bumper is set at $5,300, per AEV’s website.
As a reminder, the GMC Sierra HD lineup offers two powertrain options, starting with the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, followed by the optional 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax, which cranks out 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. Underpinning the Sierra HD is an enhanced variant of the GM T1 platform, while vehicle production takes place at the GM Flint Assembly plant in Michigan.
