Eight Chevy Corvette models were reported stolen from their sole production site, the GM Bowling Green assembly plant in Kentucky. Local authorities have recovered all eight cars attempting to skip town, WBKO reports. One of the suspects in the heist, Michigan man Deantae Walker, 21, was arrested and taken into custody over the weekend.
Walker is being charged with receiving stolen property of $10,000 or more, fleeing or evading police, and resisting arrest. The Warren County Sheriff’s Department in Michigan assisted the Bowling Green Police Department in the ongoing investigation. They’re working to identify the others involved in the theft.
The video below, shared by SoKy Citizen News, shows the Bowling Green police recovering one of the eight stolen Corvette models. It appears to be a Z06 coupe finished in Sebring Orange (G26) paint.
Since the base price of the most affordable 2025 Chevy Corvette is $69,995, the theft of eight models amounts to a cash value of over a half-million dollars. However, the cost of a new Corvette can quite easily cross the $100k mark, so it’s possible the total value of the cars stolen was closer to $1 million or more.
In other recent GM heist news, Michigan man Deon Brooks is in custody as a suspect in the theft of Cadillac Escalade-V models stolen from GM’s lot on Van Dyke Avenue in Warren, Michigan. He’s charged with stealing the Cadillac SUVs, retagging them with cloned VINs, and selling them out of state.
Additionally, we reported in December that multiple early production units of the Cadillac Escalade IQ were stolen from the same Warren lot. However, one of them comically got stuck trying to mount a security wall and was left spinning its wheels, blocking more SUVs from being stolen.

Build them with a manual transmission. Best antitheft technology available!
So much for a secured anti theft device. Glad I got a Soler Performance Throttle Controller for my Corvette. Just hope that helps more than the anti theft device in my vette. BTW. Maybe these should be standard OE in all new Corvettes. Least they wouldn’t have gotten to far. And hey having a little more quickness in the pedal is a huge plus!!!
How was the corvette stolen? What is laking in the security system of the C8 Corvette that we should be aware of?!
Hey Greg….You know that Red convertible pictured at the first of this article. That car is so beautiful I would be damn close to stealing it myself!
Sounds like Security is equal to Quality Control .
Any details on the suspect?
wow… the suspect’s photo was not showing up when I left my previous comment… LIFE SENTENCE FOR THAT BUFFOON IMMEDIATELY.
You would be surprised at how often criminals get off stealing vehicles. Used car dealer buddy had 3 cars stolen from his showroom via plate glass windows. DA said since it was a nonviolent offense, they didn’t have the resources to prosecute. Same thing when a 911 was stolen from his repair shop. Myself, 7-series BMW, two different trailers, pickup truck and well I forgot the other vehicle. Nothing happened to the different thief’s. Crime pays in America all to often.
lower education = higher criminality. BTW, plural of “thief” is “thieves” and Crime pays… all TOO often. Trump may be right, who needs a “Department of Education” ?!?
CIRC…Our DA would find a two year home for these Miscreants. Believe me where I live they would live out a real life version of COOL HAND LUKE!
MAYBE you all better investigate the gate guard at the plant.
Someone on the inside must have had the fobs for these dudes…
