General Motors produces some of the largest SUVs on the market, with models like the Chevy Suburban, GMC Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade ESV dominating the full-size segment. However, as GM transitions to an all-electric future, it is now bringing massive EVs into the fold as well. Enter the 2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL, which is officially GM’s biggest SUV in multiple dimensions.
The Escalade IQL was unveiled on March 5th, 2025 as the extended-length version of the all-electric Cadillac Escalade IQ, offering more space for passengers and cargo. Compared to the standard Escalade IQ, the IQL variant extends third-row legroom by an additional four inches, bringing it to 36.7 inches, while third-row headroom gains an extra inch, now measuring 38.2 inches.
At 228.5 inches (5,803 mm) in length, the 2026 Escalade IQL is GM’s longest SUV ever, outstretching the 2025 Cadillac Escalade ESV (227.0 inches), 2025 Chevy Suburban (226.3 inches), and 2025 GMC Yukon XL (225.2 inches). In terms of wheelbase length, the Escalade IQL measures in at 136.2 inches (3,460 mm), which is identical to the standard Escalade IQ, but longer than the Escalade ESV, Suburban, and Yukon XL, all of which ride on a 134.1-inch wheelbase.
The overall width of the Escalade IQL is measured at 82.4 inches (2,093 mm), making it wider than the Suburban, Yukon XL, and Escalade ESV, which measure 81.0 to 81.1 inches. Notably, the GMC Hummer EV SUV is wider than the Escalade IQL, measuring in at 86.5 inches.
Despite its increased length, the Escalade IQL is “only” 76.1 inches tall (1,933 mm), making it slightly lower than some full-size GM SUVs, including the 2025 Chevy Tahoe (76.8 inches) and 2025 GMC Yukon (76.5 inches).

I can’t say the view from the back and rear-side panel looks good. It looks choppy and not clean. I would expect classic, clean lines in a high-premium vehicle.
Front end looks good.
Cadillac has lost their minds with expensive electrics! $132,000…haha GM has lost their minds with all new car and truck prices!
I have bought 9 Escalades and my last one is a 2020 ESV Platinum and I will keep what I have. Not going to keep paying higher prices for something that has almost the same tech, and the IQL?? Well they can keep that toaster for someone else. No EV for me!!
Fun Fact: The longest Cadillac ever made is the 1974 Cadillac Fleetwood 75, which measures 250 inches (6.35 meters) in length. This model was known for its size and was often used as a limousine, although it was a standard production vehicle.
