The GMC Sierra EV is slowly being fleshed out into a more diverse model range. For the 2024 model year, it came exclusively in the Denali Edition 1 trim with a dual-motor powertrain and the biggest available battery pack. As for the aesthetics, it came exclusively with Thunderstorm Gray paint (paint code GNO), 24-inch wheels (RPO REE), and an After Dark (E4V) interior. The 2025 GMC Sierra EV is still Denali-only and dual-motor-only with only one wheel option, but now it has two interior color options.
The new interior colorway available to order for the GMC Sierra EV is Desert Dune (EWA). Compared to After Dark, the differences are primarily in the upholstery of the seats, door panels, and armrest cover. It’s a nice, premium-looking tan color with white piping on the seats for luxury pickup truck drivers who prefer a lighter look in the cabin. Incidentally, the color of the dash and the wood trim is the same in both interiors.
The Desert Dune interior is available in both variants of the GMC Sierra EV Denali (Extended Range and Max Range) and in conjunction with any of the six paint options for the electric truck.
After Dark (E4V)
As for the prospect of more variety coming to the GMC Sierra EV model range, it’s starting to look like it could still be limited to just the Denali trim throughout the 2025 model year. The more affordable Sierra EV Elevation and more off-road-oriented Sierra EV AT4 were originally announced for the 2025 model year, but it seems as though we’ll be waiting until the 2026 model year for them to arrive.
Last we heard, the two new trims are coming this summer. However, the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2026 GMC Sierra EV is scheduled for May 19th, 2025. So it’s unclear whether the Elevation and AT4 trims will be 2025 or 2026 models.
The Chevy Silverado EV’s mid-range LT trim, which we expect to be comparable to the Sierra EV Elevation, arrived on the market for 2025 as a middle ground between the work-ready WT models and the sporty and expensive RST trim. However, we’re still waiting for the Silverado EV Trail Boss, which will now officially arrive as a 2026 model.
All GMC Sierra EV variants are based on the GM BT1 platform, which integrates a GM battery pack and GM drive motor technology.

…a Tan interior.
If you want an authentic “Desert Dune” interior, go park it outside with the windows down for a week.
Omg!… I love this interior color!!
Now if gm could only spread it out on other models…
Praise the Lord, finally an American car company offering a unique color on a premium priced model! 😂. How about a nice Navy Blue? This might as well be a 70’s pea soup green for all of the excitement it will raise.
Can’t get excited about basic beige interior.
