The 2025 model year marks the sixth iteration of the C8 Corvette, and with it, General Motors is introducing a few subtle, yet notable updates. Among these is a new engine specification plaque available across the full 2025 Corvette lineup, including the C8 Stingray, C8 Z06, C8 E-Ray, and the new-for-2025 Chevy Corvette ZR1. The new engine specification plaque is available as both a standalone option and as part of an optional package.
The engine specification plaque for the 2025 Corvette is tagged with RPO code SL9 and is offered as a dealer-installed LPO-level option, meaning it’s installed by the dealer when the vehicle is delivered, rather than at the factory when the vehicle is assembled. Priced at $95, the plaque provides a visual identifier of the Corvette’s engine specifications, including engine displacement, horsepower, torque, and compression ratio.
The new engine plaque is also available for the 2025 Corvette via the updated Engine Appearance Packages. As covered previously, the Coupe Engine Appearance Package (RPO code B6P) is priced at $1,695 (up from $1,495 in 2024) and now includes carbon fiber trim, engine lighting (RPO D3V, except ZR1), and the engine specification plaque. To note, this package did not feature the lighting or plaque for the 2024 model year. Meanwhile, the Convertible Engine Appearance Package (RPO code ZZ3) now costs $1,095, up $100 from the previous year, and includes a window under the tonneau cover, a black LT2 engine cover for the Stingray and E-Ray (RPO code BC7), engine intake for Z06 and ZR1, and the SL9 plaque. Previously, this package only included the window and engine cover / intake.
Beyond the addition of the engine specification plaque, Chevrolet has made a few other small updates with the launch of the 2025 Corvette lineup, including changes to the 2025 Stingray and changes to the 2025 Z06. Among these are new exterior color options, a new interior colorway, new wheel options, and a few other small accessories. Check out our previous coverage for more information.
