Mid-model year, the 2025 Chevy Traverse three-row crossover has received slight price increases across the board. The base LT trim gets a $100 price increase, and all other trims, the Z71, High Country, and RS, all get $200 price hikes. The percentage of the price increases varies depending on the trim, but they all amount to less than 0.5 percent.
The new starting price of the 2025 Chevy Traverse is $42,095. That’s for the base LT trim with FWD. AWD remains a $2,000 option on all but the rugged Z71 trim, where it’s standard.
Trim Level | Drivetrain | 2025 MSRP + DFC |
---|---|---|
LT | FWD | $42,095 |
LT | AWD | $44,095 |
Z71 | AWD | $49,195 |
High Country | FWD | $55,195 |
High Country | AWD | $57,195 |
RS | FWD | $55,495 |
RS | AWD | $57,495 |

These increases don’t significantly impact the Chevy Traverse’s price positioning in the midsize 3-row crossover class. The Traverse is still priced similarly to the Ford Explorer, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Honda Pilot, and Toyota Grand Highlander.
The Traverse is one of several GM models that’s recently received mid-model-year price increases. All full-size SUVs based on the T1 platform, the Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, GMC Yukon/Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade/Escalade ESV, received price increases in varied amounts. The 2024 Chevy Colorado and 2024 GMC Canyon have also gotten slight price hikes, but their 2025 pricing is unchanged.
The 2025 Chevy Traverse’s starting price is $41,995, including the destination freight charge. The first thing to notice is that the LS trim is gone. The new base trim is LT, although it has fewer standard safety features than last year. This change comes not too long after the Traverse dropped its previous base trim, the Traverse L, for the 2022 model year. For anyone keeping track, that means the base price of the Chevy Traverse has gone up by more than $10,000 in less than five years.
The other big change to the 2025 Chevy Traverse model range is toward the top. Following a one-year hiatus, the Chevy Traverse High Country is back as a premium offering in the crossover’s lineup. Interestingly, it’s priced a little below the Traverse RS, which remains the top trim. The reintroduction of the Traverse High Country completes the third-generation’s Y trim level strategy as a counterpart to the RS with similar equipment but different aesthetics.
The sole engine option is the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, which develops 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. Under the body panels, the Traverse rides on the GM C1 platform. Production of the 2025 model year kicked off on Monday, October 14th, 2024, at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

Needs a $8k discount and for 2026 add the 3.6L back. That 4 cylinder is HORRIBLE to listen to while accelerating!!
So my 2021 Redline Premier has gone up $8k since I bought mine new, and doesn’t offer the extremely reliable V6 anymore, is not as fun and sporty to drive, and the fuel economy isn’t better? And you want me to trade in and to buy this new one? Easy decision their….
On the horrible:
That’s not the only place where it sounds horrible under load. It’s sounds just as bad outside it too! Not good.
Losing with Mediocrity strikes again.
Man, that shark fin still looks stupid as all hell.
I bought the 2025 Traverse RS. Very Good! Nice ride, room, power, comfortable, easy on gas. The electronics are confusing, Sometimes I like listening to those AM or FM stations that are startin to fade away, like those 50,000 watt clear channel AM stations that you can still listen to at nite when your 1000 miles away. I still cant figure out to turn on the cruise, the shifter is goofy compared to the old P, R,N,D,L.I wish GM would offer exciting, flashy colors in addition to boring, bland, generic white, black and silver gray .UGH!
