2025 Chevy Blazer EV Offers New V2H PowerShift Charger Option

GM launched the all-electric Chevy Blazer EV for the 2024 model year, with the subsequent 2025 Chevy Blazer EV introducing a few important updates and changes. As was the case for the initial 2024 model year, the 2025 Chevy Blazer EV offers a range of options for customers to choose from, including multiple trim levels and powertrain configurations. Interestingly, the 2025 Chevy Blazer EV will also be available with a new V2H charger option.

The 2025 Chevy Blazer EV offers a few interesting options.

The new V2H PowerShift Charger option for the 2025 Chevy Blazer EV is tagged with RPO code 5AV and is offered as an LPO-level option, which means it is installed by the dealer, rather than at the factory when the vehicle is initially produced.

Pricing for the new 2025 Chevy Blazer EV V2H PowerShift Charger option is currently unavailable, although the optional upgrade will be offered across the Blazer EV trim level lineup. That said, this optional extra is expected to cost around $1,699 before taxes and installation.

Essentially, the new V2H PowerShift Charger option enables bi-directional charging at home, allowing users to use the electricity stored in the battery pack of their all-electric crossover to power essential home appliances, such as the refrigerator. This can be particularly useful during a blackout situation where electricity from the local grid is unreliable or unavailable. Notably, bi-directional charging requires the installation of a GM Energy Vehicle-to-Home Enablement Kit, which is sold separately.

Also notable is that the new charging systems are no longer branded as Ultium. As GM Authority covered previously, Ultium is one of the latest GM brands to hit the dustbin in the last few years. Previously, Ultium was tied to GM’s next-generation EV battery and propulsion systems, but in 2024, The General opted to drop it. That said, the brand is still in place for Ultium LLC, the joint venture between GM and LG Energy Solutions.

As a reminder, the Chevy Blazer EV rides on the GM BEV3 platform and is produced at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.
