The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq marks the luxury EV crossover’s third model year, introducing several key updates and changes over the preceding 2024 model year. As GM Authority previously covered, some of these changes include the discontinuation of the Tech trim level, as well as an updated exterior paint options list. Additionally, the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq now offers two new home charging solutions: GM PowerUp 2 and GM Energy PowerShift.
More specifically, the two new LPO-level charger options are as follows:
- GM PowerUp 2 Charger (RPO code 5CH)
- GM PowerShift Charger (RPO code 5AV)
Pricing details for the two new chargers when ordered with the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq have yet to be released, but estimates place the PowerUp 2 charger around $699 and the PowerShift charger at approximately $1,699. Both of these pricing estimates are before taxes and installation. It’s also worth noting that both of these new charger options are offered across the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq trim level lineup, which includes Luxury 1, Luxury 2, Luxury 3, Sport 1, Sport 2, and Sport 3, with both RWD and AWD configurations available.
One of the big advantages of the PowerShift charger solution is the bi-directional home charging capability, which means that the Lyriq can supply power to home appliances and other devices in the event of a power outage. However, to enable this feature, a GM Energy Vehicle-to-Home Enablement Kit is required, which is sold separately.
Finally, some readers may notice that GM has phased out the Ultium branding in connection with its battery and drive motor systems. That said, the Ultium brand continues to be used in conjunction with GM’s joint venture with LG Energy Solutions, Ultium Cells LLC.
As a reminder, the Cadillac Lyriq rides on the GM BEV3 platform and is produced at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
