2025 12 Hours Of Sebring Not Kind To Corvette Racing

All four of the Corvette Racing teams suffered during the 2025 12 Hours of Sebring, dashing The Bow Tie Brand’s hopes of winning the grueling endurance race this season. The results sting even more considering that all four teams led their respective classes during the race, proving that the results weren’t indicative of how fast the race cars were.

The No. 3 Corvette Z06 GT3.R finished the best of all of them, posting a seventh-place finish in the GTD Pro class. Antonio Garcia, Alexander Sims, and Daniel Juncadella tag-teamed the No. 3 Vette and looked strong heading into the final 90 minutes. Sims clawed his way into fourth place, running on a fuel strategy that put him on pace with the leaders. However, something in the right rear suspension let go, forcing the No. 3 Vette into the pits with just over an hour left on the clock. The team lost valuable time, going two laps down and relegating them to a seventh-place result.

“A bit of a bummer, this one. Our Corvette had pretty good pace to be honest,” Sims said. “Full credit to the Pratt Miller guys for getting it turned around quick and salvaging what we could. We didn’t give up and still managed seventh place, which could have been worse if they weren’t as quick in the pits as they were. On to the next one.”

The No. 4 Corvette Racing Z06 GT3.R of Tommy Milner, Nicky Catsburg and Nico Varrone had to make an unscheduled pit stop to address issues with the IMSA mandated scrutineering logger. They ultimately finished three laps down and ninth place in the GTD Pro class.

No. 36 Corvette of Charlie Eastwood, Alec Udell and Salih Yoluc also suffered a mechanical issue, relegating them to an eight-place GTD class finish during the 12 Hours of Sebring. Finally, the No. 13 Corvette of Lars Kern, Orey Fidani, and Matt Bell suffered a massive hit that dealt serious damage to the right front of the race car, dropping the trio to 10th place in GTD.

“We were having a good race once again up until we had the little incident in the final stages,” Fidani said. “We had a very strong car, and I’m proud of the team and their efforts. We know what we’re capable of. We’ll take this finish and move forward to the next one.”

  1. I was there at Sebring and felt optimistic with qualifying and testing earlier in the week. Also obtained driver signatures on Friday, and thought with 4 cars at least 1 would finish high enough to be on the podium.
#13 did finish first at Daytona in January.
We should see better results as the year goes on.

  2. On the positive side, at least they had good pace.
