2024 GMC Canyon Gets Price Increase

The 2024 GMC Canyon midsize pickup truck has received price increases for most trims. Normally, we’d call this a mid-model year price hike. However, unusually, GM raised the prices of a truck from the previous model year. It’s less unusual when you remember that the online configurator is still live for the 2024 GMC Canyon. All pricing figures below include the $1,595 destination fee.

2024 GMC Canyon Pricing
Trim Level Drivetrain Powertrain 2024 MSRP + DFC
Elevation 2WD TurboMax 2.7L I4 L3B $37,895
Elevation 4WD TurboMax 2.7L I4 L3B $41,195
AT4 4WD TurboMax 2.7L I4 L3B $44,895
Denali 4WD TurboMax 2.7L I4 L3B $52,895
AT4X 4WD TurboMax 2.7L I4 L3B $55,895
ATX4 AEV Edition 4WD TurboMax 2.7L I4 L3B $65,995

The 2024 GMC Canyon‘s price went up by $300 for the Elevation, AT4, and Denali trims. These changes bump up the base price of the 2024 GMC Canyon to $37,895, including destination charges. Incidentally, prices are unchanged for the AT4X trim and the AT4X AEV Edition.

We’ve known the pricing of the 2025 Canyon since way back in December, and that hasn’t had any recent changes. It starts at $39,995 for the base Elevation trim with 2WD. Elevation is the only trim where 4WD is optional (it’s standard across the rest of the lineup), and it costs an extra $3,300. At the top of the model range, the Denali model begins at $53,595.

In case you missed it, AT4X is now an option package (RPO XEW) for the Canyon AT4 rather than a dedicated trim. Adding the AT4X package requires also adding the AT4 Premium Package (PCU) and Technology Plus Package (PDG). Adding the AT4X AEV Edition option package (XEW) requires all of the above, bringing the starting price of a 2025 GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition to $68,820.

These price changes coincide with mid-model year price bumps for GM’s full-size SUVs that share the T1 platform, including the Chevy Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade.

The 2024 Chevy Colorado received a similar round of price increases. This is a little more unusual, considering the online configurator for the 2025 Chevy Colorado just went live this week. The 2025 Canyon’s configurator has been up on GMC’s website since December.

The GMC Canyon is underpinned by GM’s updated 31XX-2 platform, which is shared with the Chevy Colorado. Vehicle production takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

  4. The price for these automobiles are ridiculous. If we would not bye any for at least 2 years just set back and watch the sky high prices fall. Good thing they have warranty. The 2023 gmc 1500 I bought has transmission problems. Took dealer over 3 months to fix it. Gm has (hugh) transmission problems. I here the same from all manufacturers. Quality control has gone down the sewer. Sad but true.
