West Coast Customs Creates Häagen-Dazs Cadillac With An Ice Cream Freezer: Video

Häagen-Dazs is gearing up for Super Bowl LIX with a new custom Cadillac, equipping the classic drop-top luxury machine with a built-in ice cream freezer. The custom Caddy will be featured in the ice cream brand’s very first Super Bowl commercial, “Not So Fast, Not So Furious,” showing the bespoke ride as it cruises from Los Angeles to New Orleans for the Big Game. The build was completed in collaboration with West Coast Customs, and includes a variety of bespoke touches.

Promotion for the new ad spot includes an appearance by actor and rapper Ludacris, who contacts Ryan Friedlinghaus, CEO at West Coast Customs, to bring his new ice cream machine to life.

The whole thing definitely gives off some strong “Pimp My Ride” vibes. For those readers who may be unaware, “Pimp My Ride” was a show that aired on MTV between 2004 and 2009 starring rapper and actor Xzibit, in which West Coast Customs (and later Galpin Auto Sports) would modify and upgrade various vehicles around some sort of central theme.

Although the new Häagen-Dazs commercial has no association with the old MTV show, the idea is quite similar. In the video, we see West Coast Customs modify a 1963 Cadillac Series 62 convertible with several ice cream-inspired upgrades, such as custom paint and trim reflecting the Häagen-Dazs brand colors of burgundy and cream. We also see a series of custom Häagen-Dazs badges, including on the hood, the steering wheel, the wheel caps, and around the interior.

Speaking of the interior, the cabin in this custom Cadillac continues the burgundy and cream color scheme with leather seats and a burgundy leather dashboard. There’s even a custom Häagen-Dazs cone holder armrest in the center console, while a powerful audio setup was installed as well.

Of course, the real star of the show is in the trunk, where this Cadillac is offering up a ton of tasty treats, all chilled in a massive trunk-mounted freezer.
