General Motors kicked off the new year with the launch of the all-new two-tone 2025 Buick LaCrosse in China, where the new variant of Buick’s flagship sedan is boosting sales of the model.
The automaker’s main joint venture in China SAIC-GM has just revealed that the two-tone 2025 Buick LaCrosse is greatly contributing to increased sales for the nameplate in the Asian country, the only one in the world where the brand’s full-size sedan is currently manufactured and sold. In fact, the LaCrosse achieved outstanding sales performance in just the first few weeks of sales of the two-tone variant – being well-received so far by customers.
In a rare move, SAIC-GM revealed the 2025 Buick LaCrosse sales figures for the first month of the calendar year, stating that it sold a total of 5,112 units of the model in January alone. According to the company, this monthly performance represents a year-over-year growth of 42.3 percent, making it one of the strongest performers in its segment in the highly competitive Chinese market.
This significant year-over-year sales growth and performance for the nameplate in January is directly related to the launch of the two-tone 2025 Buick LaCrosse, which went on sale in the second week of the month as Buick’s first launch of the year. As such, the new two-tone version is boosting the popularity and appeal of the fourth-generation LaCrosse, thanks to its highly distinctive premium appearance.
As GM Authority exclusively reported, the new two-tone 2025 Buick LaCrosse is based on the model’s Platinum trim level in China and is positioned as the top-of-the-line variant by adopting a two-tone paint treatment inspired by that of the Buick GL8 Century Flagship. In this regard, the two-tone 2025 LaCrosse’s body stands out for being split horizontally along the beltline and offers several color combinations.
The all-new two-tone 2025 Buick LaCrosse has successfully launched in China, increasing sales of the model in the largest automotive market in the world and the main volume center for the Buick brand worldwide. SAIC-GM says the variant has generated solid growth in demand and is starting to become a benchmark both within its class and in other segments due to its striking color combination.

Nice! Love the 2-tones. Even the new Buick front end doesn’t look that bad in this case.
Bet they could sell a good number of these in the U.S. Oh yeah, Mary has final say.
For US they’d completely # it up by giving it the 1.2 and a premium sticker price. Then blame the sales disaster on people not wanting cars.
there chinese, no way i would them (cars) in the country.
they’re
Actually, it should be “They’re” with a capital T and then it should say “I” instead of “i” and then it should have the word “let” between would and them.
There. Fixed it.
They could be built in the US for the US market. So what if they are Chinese designed? There tastes in cars are nearly the same as ours. The only difference is here in the US the companies insist on what the customers want even if its not true.
It’s such a shame that GM & Ford let all the other car companies beat them on their own turf!
Yes nice if the U.S.A. gm would offer us cars. They just decided to let Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, KIA & Subaru take more share away from gm in North America.
Before you go down that road you best recall the past.
I priced one of the last Lacrosse. They took over 2 years to sell and an AWD model could be had for $28k. That was well below sticker.
Even the Regals a great car was rotting on the dealer lots while the Enclave and Ebusra flew off the lots.
Sorry you can’t create a new history that never happened.
That was before the Enclave was 4cyl-only and $60k+.
People are realizing those 30mpg sedans nobody wanted maybe weren’t so bad. And somehow the foreign makes still sell a ton of them.
The sales were on a number of 4 cylinder CUV models. I was at the show watching people and they avoided the cars like the plague. I even ate my sandwich in one as no one wanted in during one of the largest auto shows.
The import sales are down and their CUV sales are up. What keeps the sedan sales up is many of them are sold globally vs just in America. If they were just here then they would fold to.
If you notice most mfgs all have a full line of CUV models and only 1-2 sedans anymore in the volume brand.
GM held out longer than any and were the last NA MFG to offer sedans. They introduced new ones and were the last to offer these cars and sales were just not there.
How many here even owned a Malibu or Lacrosse? I had a Malibu.
We went to sell it in good shape and V6 but no one wanted it. I have a truck today that I paid $37K for in 2017 and today they sell for 34K. Try that in a sedan. LOL. Even my in laws 300 is not worth $6K.
In fact we got a hell of a deal on an Impala for a family member because again the dealer was sitting on a number of loaded Impalas and no buyers. It was $58K and then was discounted to $33K. It was nearly a year old sitting. It was well optioned and black. Nice looking car. It was one of 16 sitting unsold.
You mean a sharp-looking, well-appointed sedan might actually SELL??
Amazing when you don’t think everything has to be a 4cyl CUV.
We got rid of my wife’s SUV and replaced it with a 2023 Kia Stinger. I drive an Audi A3. I would consider both a driver’s car and fun to drive. GM only offers the CT4 and CT5, both out of my price range. GM must think Buick and Chevy buyers don’t like truly fun to drive cars (Corvette excepted).
Who cares what they sell in China!
I hope they sell millions of them all over the world.cause they help pay for my GM pension.
how about that, cool looking cars sell?!? maybe GM should put together a focus group on this. hahaha
It won’t be sold in the US because Americans are bad at math. I’ll bet this CAR gets decent mileage. The three top selling vehicles in the US are trucks that get 15 MPG. And President Musk wants to get rid of the Department of Educashun.
Same money buys a V8 truck that gets 16 and a 4cyl CUV that gets 20.
Truck has far better durability and resale.
What do you expect people are going to buy?
A new V6 LaCrosse or Impala getting 30+ would certainly turn some heads. But it needs to be V6. Hobble it with a 4cyl or less then don’t even bother.
4cyl engines today produce more power than regular ol v6.
And they still buzz like a Citation doing it. It’s about smoothness not just power.
Not to mention a NA V6 will handily outlast any strung-out turbo 4.
TBD
To bad for Buick I wouldn’t give them another dime . Go sell your cars to China you bunch of losers.
So Elon is to blame for American’s lack of math skills?
The Buick LaCrosse looks a very nice car. I bet it would present strong competition to the Lexus ES 350. But wait it’s not available in the US…too bad. I predict GM’s “China First” Strategy will eventually bite them on the ass.
Cars are not selling in the US and GM is a global brand. They sell the vehicles they know will get volume for each region.
And when it does bite them, the American tax payers will be forced to bail them out!
I want one. But, only if it’s made here with American parts.
We have a 2017 LaCrosse and love it. (our third LaCrosse) So, Buick can build an Envision in China and bring it to the U.S. but not a new LaCrosse? Thanks.
I think this is a pretty nice looking vehicle, I’m glad at least someone in the world is able to purchase it. Curious why all the negative comments here. I don’t mind where in the world things are made, we are a global economy. If it’s something I enjoy and I can afford to buy and I enjoy it.
MURICA first baby. You are unpatriotic woke DEI mob gun grabbing, cancel snowflake. Get with god. The feriners and illegals our cleaning our clock. Arnold Palmer had a yuge shlong. MAGA! Make dem Buicks here. Take a road trip to the Gulf of AMERICA!
Style and comfort still sell apparently. At least in China.
We need an American version of this car built here by real Americans just like my old Electra. And it needs a V6 with at least 300 hp! It’s about time that Buicks are, again, known for something other than being unreliable and having turbocharger failures!
Once they became known for elderly people with handicap plates driving five under, they were doomed.
Mary and Co. being Buttheads again. Buick should sell this here also.
Nice car – for China. Meanwhile, back here in the good ole USA, Mary says “here’s your 4 banger SUV and you take it or else (we’ll stick you in an EV.)
BUT WAIT-
Mary- just cut the xt4,Xt5 ,xt6 !
So who knows what her crazy idea is to stick us in.
Gm is keeping on with the death spiral under crazy Mary
Not a big fan of the new Buicks. They use to be so elegant, now they just look like any other Asian car; more specifically a Mazda.
Mary Barra, Please bring the LaCrosse back to the US. Believe they were built at Kansas plant…this car would sell here. Toyota, Honda, etc have no trouble selling sedans. GM has missed the boat not having a Lux Sedan
The deaf, dumb and blind CEO.
While I love the Chinese Buick LaCrosse two tone, color, styling and wheels, it is most likely a midsized, smaller vehicle with a 4 cylinder turbo if made for China, not the US.
Redesign this Buick into a large, luxury powerer by a 3.6L, 6 cylinder, (not a 2.4 turbo, 4 cylinder) and it would sell here. GM customers are tiring of SUVs.
Sidebar: Why not add some excitement to this vehicle like the Chinese GL8 Century Flagship rear seat design?
Same Here, Going On 2 yrs With My Buick Envista Avenir And Love It The Car, Made In South Korea Wasn’t Going To Stop Me From Buying It, Mostly Everything In My Home Is Made In China Or Other Asian Countries!
Two-tone cars. This is best they can come up with?
What is this, 1979?
its seems everywhere else is getting sedans and coupes, while we get a bunch of dull, overpriced, boxy suvs powered by weedeater 4 cylinder engines. We loved our Rivieras and Regal Limiteds and Regal turbo…now I wouldnt even consider a Buick. And the two/tone? That was huge in the 1980s, every Buick and Cadillac we saw was in two tones…now everything is black, white or gray…the automakers are as dull as the people they build for…Ill keep my CTS V and CTS coupe…
