The future of the Chevy Camaro nameplate isn’t particularly bright at the moment. Following the discontinuation of the sixth-generation Camaro with the end of the 2024 model year, fans have been eager to learn as much as they can about a possible seventh-generation. As expected, GM Authority has been at the forefront of this story since day one with a series of exclusive reports, including GM’s internal progress in green-lighting seventh-gen Camaro development, as well as what such a vehicle might ultimately have to offer. Now, a series of new, next-gen Chevy Camaro renderings have hit the web, and while they look good, they’re likely little more than wishful thinking.
The new rendering images were recently posted to social media, and show the next-gen Camaro with a low, wide stance, and the Chevy bowtie emblem prominently placed above a black slotted grille. The headlights are thin and highly angular, integrating into the sharp body lines and extending towards prominent fender arches. Vertical LED daytime running lights are positioned in the corners of the front bumper.
The side profile shows a sleek, aerodynamic flow, with smooth body lines and a handsome fastback silhouette. The large, multi-spoke wheels are finished in black and polished silver, while subtle creases along the doors and pronounced rear haunches contribute the aggressive posture.
At the rear, the Camaro concept shows a set of ultra-slim and sharp LED lighting signatures. The sculpted rear bumper houses dual exhaust outlets, which are neatly integrated into a black diffuser-style lower bumper element.
The artist also rendered the interior, envisioning a layout somewhat reminiscent of the C8 Corvette. The flat-bottom steering wheel features a bold large bowtie emblem at its center, flanked by a mix of physical controls and touch-sensitive buttons. The instrument cluster is fully digital, displaying a high-resolution performance readout, including speed, engine rpm, and various driving modes. Red contrast stitching is visible across the dashboard, seats, and door trim, and the sport bucket seats are heavily bolstered.
As GM Authority exclusively reported in February, the business case for a next-gen Chevy Camaro was recently “blown apart” by decision makers after it failed to meet several key business-level performance targets, including sales volume forecasts and profitability figures. According to one insider source, GM is still considering the development of a next-gen Camaro, but for the moment, “the light at the end of the tunnel is now dimmer.”
One of the biggest factors is affordability, with one insider source telling GM Authority that a next-gen model was unlikely unless it was “affordable and attainable.”
For now, the future of this fan favorite remains murky, at best. However, GM Authority has previously explored what the next-gen Camaro could look like as a Toyota GR86 / Subaru BRZ rival, as well as what it might offer as a base engine, so check out those articles for more.

Sorry that just doesn’t do it for me in pictures. Front end looks to similar to corvette. Rear end looks really good. Now in person, it could change.
The front end is a duplicate of the Ferrari Portofino
Rear end is almost an exact duplicate of the C7 ‘Vette.
Too “European”, not enough muscle.
The finest Honda Civic coup I have ever seen.
Toyota Solara on steroids!
Looks like the now canceled Jaguar F Type. Maybe Chevrolet and Jaguar could do a joint venture and produce the two now defunct models.
Best attempt to mimic a Ferrari? No thanks.
The first picture a four-door Camaro. Looks very good. Maybe the next generation Malibu?
The four-door coupe-like profile Camaro may be interesting and may sell lots for it’s practicality of 4-doors.
The coupe looks like an Aston Martin DB9. Rear design looks sharp.
GM build them soon.
Looks like a next-gen Malibu Coupe in the first photo. Other than two doors, I don’t see a bit of iconic Camaro style. On the plus side it would probably have good aerodynamics for NASCAR.
It’s god awful , make a real retro 67/69 Camaro , or don’t bother .
or the 1982-92 camaro or even the 1993-2002 camaro.
The 82-92 Camaro was terrible. Some of the 93-2002 cars looked really good. I owned all of them.
Nah. Most people that want a retro Camaro probably won’t buy one anyway. Like the first few years of the last gen that had the more retro design got old quickly. And God forbid they go back to the 70s era. Move forward not backwards.
Move forward not backwards.
Who let out the Aston Martin?
meanwhile Ford can find a business plan for Mustang. And GM wonders why Ford outsells them in Trucks too.
Apparently, the Gen 6 Camaro with 30,000/ $1.1B in annual sales did not have enough profit margin to continue or have a suitable replacement ready.
So both the CT5 Black Wing and C8ZR1 as sweet looking performers as they are would be profitable with maybe several thousand produced?
As Ford readies the Mustang Shelby GT 500 for re-release in ’26 and GM appears to have no offering and/ or no Camaro follow-on in the works.
Pretty Mediocre…
I think all pics look fantastic! 🙏 would love to see a new Camaro look like these. Manual trans please. I’d order one.
Todd, you and I feel the same about these renderings. I’ve pitched 2 new Camaros in my life – a ’70 and an ’81. Loved them both. These renderings would have me in showroom for my 3rd. GM needs to “get on the stick” and build these cars. Their loyal fans are waiting. And NASCAR iterations would be awesome.
Steve, we seem to be on the exact same page. I too have had some of the oldie but goodies, though none were new. ‘69, ‘76, ‘81. Would love another !
The top pic not so much. It’s looks like ever other sedan on the road.
Whatever version you build, make sure it has a usable back seat like the Dodge Challenger. If the rear seat is actually usable, you will sell a lot more of them. The 1967–69 retro version should be considered, but the pictures of what is currently under consideration are also very nice. Even if the profits are smaller than ideal, the image to Chevrolet, plus taking sales from the competition makes building this car a must!
Still has the same sh!tty itty bitty door windows and windshield that every Camaro owner hated. I know, I owned one.
Camaros have miles of visibility (I own 2nd and 3rd gens) in my opinion, in comparison to my daily driver, a 370z.
A Camaro is about going fast in a straight line.
Need big windows? Get a minivan.
Good visibility is key to safety. Safety not only for you but everyone else on the roads. You wanna go fast, get on a race track.
Bingo. I am so tired of hearing about the low roof line and small windows. It’s what makes it look sleek. Buy a sedan if you want huge windows.
Can’t GM doesn’t offer other than expensive Cadillac so your average can’t afford..
Someone is a fan of Pininfarina. Gorgeous flowing lines from the Italian Masters. But sadly, an exotic sports car is not what Americans want in a muscle car.
Two thoughts: First of all If it can’t be built off Ultium, it has no chance until Barra retires. It’s just a figment of someone’s imagination.
Secondly, these renderings are of a car still too big, too ponderous and overly heavy looking. If Camaro were to get another act, it needs to be smaller, lighter and cheaper. More like the early ‘70’s masterpiece design and less like the chunky-looking, relatively expensive last generation.
The pictures of the IROC Camaro renderings look way better than these pictures. GM needs to get a true muscle car guy on this team. Since I’ve owned a 1967, 2010, and a 2024 Camaro along with a 2023 C8, I’m available for guidance and direction. I can make it happen!
These do nothing for me. First off, make the windows larger – that was a constant gripe about the last generation. It looks too European, I think.
Ferrari Roma Coupe with a Bow Tie.
Lazy rendering, loaded with dated cliches and surfacing.
Absolutely love the rear end!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the BIGGEST COMPLAINTS about the previous Camaro…was it’s tiny
“Slit-Like” side windows.
It seems like, with THIS rendering, the stylists STILL HAVEN’T LEARNED THEIR LESSON !!
They really need to CUT OUT some LARGER WINDOWS on the SIDES for BETTER VISABILITY !!!
WHY CONTINUE TO REPEAT A BAD THING ??
PS: The car looks TOO EUROPEAN…like an ALFA ROMEO or something .
Make it look more like a modern ‘67 or ‘68 Model
Why design something that has anything to do with something from 1967? They did the retro thing when they first came back out in 2010. The 2010-13 look dated compared to the 2017 and up cars. The retro look gets old quickly.
Might as well get an old Datsun Z…not impressed, missing the market for these cars. IMHO
GM has obviously forgotten all the lessons from the GTO remake.
A Camaro needs to LOOK like a Camaro! What’s wrong with classic and timeless? The only thing Camaro on this is the Chevy emblem, and even that looks out of place.
20 years later that GTO is my Sunday driver!
Biggest shame is there was a credible V8 car under the sheetmetal.
Had it looked like a proper GTO, things might’ve turned out differently.
Didn’t see where these are official GM Design / Styling renderings.
So everybody relax…nothing more than someone’s idea here.
MALIBU?
How about doing what Dodge did by bringing back a classic? Camaro that is. Something from the late 60’s early 70’s. A retro-mode. A real SS with some balls. 7.0 liter, manual shift. Say like 700hp.
Yeah, looks good. Build it with a little more muscle look, please.
Wait. The Camaro has to be “affordable and attainable” yet they are asking $60K for the average Silverado now. What a BS excuse. They are still making the platform the Camaro was based on!
Another Camaro with small windows and poor visibility…no thanks.
That’s absolutely atrocious styling for a Camaro. That’s a Ferrari and Toyota Solara mash up looks like nothing that would or could be the best camaro. We need a strong Retro infused design that speaks raw Camaro brute design or go in a new direction that says yeahhhh baby I want that. In a brand new Camaro design language
Gorgeous! Having owned 5 Camaros and 8 Corvettes, I’d buy this in a heartbeat. For those complaining about this design looking like a Ferrari, the European sports car designs of the 1960’s influenced GM to release the second gen Camaro with radically different styling from the first gen – “to look more Ferrari-like”. I know this because I researched that 1970 model with many car magazine articles before I bought a new one in 1971. And IMO this car is much “easier on the eyes” than the current C8 Corvette styling.
Does GM never learn anything ? The Mustang looks like a Mustang and is a modern take on the 1966 vehicle. The Camaro needs to look like a modern version of the first generation (67-69). Not a European car if it wants to be successful in the market.
Looks like the Buick coupe that was never built. Make 2 and 4 door versions Chevy/Buick.
Let Buick slip in a quad-turbo 1500+ hp “experimental” version!
But sadly that’s beyond fantasy under current leadership.
GENERIC as any .. chinese …. no remarkable strong details, no visibility with BMW headlights
GM should use half of the buy- back money for R&D on a “people’s” car.
The Camaro is dead. Get over it!
No!
Someone tell Mary that Chinese buyers want a Camaro. There, then we’ll get one.
I’d rather have the Camaro be dead, than let Mary give us a 3cyl CUV “Camaro”.
Agreed, to me it looks like a cross-over model meaning a variant available to Buick as well as Cadillac. I’d like to see it return to a 1960’s 1 generation model, (please forgive) and a model in a hatchback variant that would open the door to more customers like me who’d buy based more on need than ego. I need to be able to haul a wheel chair for the wife (suffers from M/S) can’t do that with any Camaro
How old are some of you? A hatchback? Wow!
I realize this is just an artist’s vision. However, it looks like another Toyota or Honda to me.
If Mary wants to get back into the “muscle car” market to actually compete, I’d like to see a 69 remodel. Make it an SS/RS package, with a usable back seat (not 4 doors). Offer both a manual & automatic trans, sunroof or even a convertible version. Don’t force an electric car down our throats. If you must, make it a hybrid. If it’s priced within reach, they wouldn’t be able to keep them on the lot!
I think the rendering looks pretty damn good…I hope Chevrolet can work up a good enough business plan to convince GM top management to build it.
I remember when the last new Camaro came out; everyone hated it. Then, the specialty aftermarket got a hold of it and changed people’s perceptions. This one will, too, if it happens.
I think I’ll just hang on to my 2011 5th gen. I think at this point it’s the most retro styled Camaro well ever see. GM pretty much blows these days.
GUYS! RELAX…
THESE AREN’T OFFICIAL GM STYLING RENDERINGS.
..messing with us! It’ll happen, but if it’s another bastardization of a Muscle Car nameplate like the 4 Door Mustang EV.. send em’ off the line straight to the crusher!
..if they do that, ’69 Camaro’s will be 200K @ Mecum. Careful GM. Audience’s are created and
they also can just go home… don’t do it!!
This will never happen. gm is slowly going under I think. I was really hopeful up until recently that I could get a Colorado to replace my ’16 z71 but with no 6 foot or longer box I have no use for one.
Probably will be getting the new frontier long box and with the V6.
And I think if the Japanese and Korean companies can sale sedans gm should be able to figure it out.
Overall there is only 3 stand out vehicles from gm. The Corvette, ct5 and ct4. Nothing else is existing or better then the competition.
Whomever is doing these “renderings” AND clueless GM stylists still don’t “get it”. Unlike Dodge and Ford, the stylings they keep coming up with, that fail…as proven by lack of sales….do NOT pay “homage” to the original appearance of GM’s Pony Car that both Ford and Dodge successfully transferred into the updated looks of the Mustang and the Charger.
Meant to say Challenger, not Charger, in the previous comment.
I ordered several F-bodies, 79 TransAm to 2015 1LE. All comfortable if you remembered to duck your head getting in and out. The 2015 was the last one with genuine reclining seats. May get buried in it but wife would object.
I made two 400 mile trips in 6th Gen’s for a dealer, went home with a backache and bruised elbows. If you want smaller and lighter, your Mazda awaits.
I factory ordered a second generation Z 28 many years ago, and also owned a 99 Firebird. However the last generation Camaro, I always thought was hideous. I am a Ford hater, but I thought the latest generation Mustang was perfect. There is a reason people stopped buying the Camaro. Mustang took over pony car sales because their design engineers get it. Somehow GM screwed up, and wonder why sales dropped. Now, this new concept Camaro looks like a classic to me, and it is a car I could get behind. If it came with a 6 speed stick I might even buy one.
We tried a more soft body line Camaro in the past (4th gen) and guess what happened? no one bought it.
Nah.
But I do like the dash.
The people making these renderings need to look to that blue “future sports car” rendering that GM released a couple years ago for inspiration.
Wow, this is Ugly and a disgrace to the Camaro name.
I am not a fan of this rendering..
It don’t even come close to any of the previous guns.
It looks to much like a foreign car. SUCKS..
Ever since that woman took over as CEO, GM has gone down hill. 1st getting rid of Pontiac, Oldsmobile, BIG MISTAKE!!!
Now she is giving into the government such as EPA , climate change CRACKPOTS.
What is wrong with the gas powered engine? It is been tried and true for well over a century. Giving into that E crap which NO ONE WANTS.
The only true car out there from GM is the CT5 BLACKWING. And it is pricey.
