New 2025 Chevy D-Max Pickup Officially Teased In Ecuador

Confirming the exclusive report that GM Authority published in mid-2024, General Motors has just released the first official teasers of the new 2025 Chevy D-Max pickup truck in Ecuador.

The automaker’s Ecuadorian subsidiary released several images and a teaser video of the new 2025 Chevy D-Max for the South American country, as a prelude to the imminent introduction of the next generation of the best-selling entry-level midsize pickup in Ecuador. In fact, the new 2025 D-Max is part of Chevrolet Ecuador’s “Somos Camionetas” campaign that previews the expansion of the brand’s pickup truck portfolio in the country.

“By 2025, Chevrolet will launch 10 new models and versions of vehicles in different segments in Ecuador, consolidating its car offering and local sales leadership,” said GM Ecuador in a statement. “Among them, the new 2025 Chevrolet D-Max stands out, which will strengthen the brand’s presence in the Ecuadorian market,” the company added.

In particular, the first teaser images of the new 2025 Chevy D-Max pickup truck show a few features of the model’s front design, such as the central part of the grille with the golden Chevrolet logo and the lighting signature of the DRL lights and the headlights. In addition, the video version of the teaser reveals the shape of the front light projectors of the truck that will be launched during the next few weeks as an imported model in Ecuador.

The new 2025 Chevy D-Max is expected to be officially presented in the next few days in Ecuador, the only country where GM maintains the legal registration of the D-Max name, which comes from the original Isuzu model that was produced for several decades in South America under an agreement with the Japanese manufacturer. The new model will seek to continue the success of the Ecuadorian D-Max, which stopped being manufactured in September and for the last few years was the best-selling vehicle in the country.

“We are in the testing phase of a pickup truck that will take the place of the D-Max in the Chevrolet portfolio, which will be in the same price range and offer the same quality and availability of spare parts,” said Chevrolet Ecuador Commercial Director, Renato Silva. “The 2025 Chevy New D-Max will be a little bigger, will have better technology and will be offered with a very similar mechanical range. That is why we trust that the sales volumes maintained,” he finished.

  1. As an Ecuadorian, I take this as blatant theft and I say this because here in my country they also sell its original variant, the Maxus T60, which is even cheaper.

The problem is not that they sell the same vehicle, but that they sell it more expensive just because of the logo. If Maxus had not been sold in Ecuador there would be no problem, but this in itself leaves a lot to be desired for the brand; they didn’t even bother to redesign the front bumper.

  2. Thats the poor management for you. Its supposed to be priced for working people.

How is the reliability of the Maxus T60? I have heard lots of problems in Australia. I am very disappointed they CHOSE THIS path with the D Max, the original Izuzu version was MUCH better…
