After being announced in Mexico late last summer, the new 2025 Chevy BrightDrop is officially arriving in the Latin American country.
General Motors’ Mexican subsidiary announced the official arrival of the new 2025 Chevy BrightDrop, where the commercial van will be sold under a new fleet sales strategy and throughout select dealerships in Mexican territory. The 2025 BrightDrop under the Chevrolet brand is introduced locally in the 400 and 600 configurations, with various charging capacities and driving ranges for multiple business profiles.
“Chevrolet BrightDrop is an electric van with a functional design that optimizes the operations of any business. Designed with drivers in mind, it offers multiple autonomy options, ample cabin space and advanced technology that make work easier,” said GM Mexico in a statement. “Thanks to GM’s EV battery platform, BrightDrop offers exceptional performance, autonomy and power to accomplish any task,” the company added.
In particular, the new 2025 Chevy BrightDrop goes on sale in Mexico with the short-wheelbase 400 variant powered by the standard battery pack with the single motor, front-wheel drivetrain. This configuration offers a range of at least 267 kilometers (166 miles), a payload capacity of 1,683 kilograms (3,710 pounds) as well as an output of 240 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque.
The 600 variant of the 2025 Chevy BrightDrop is expected to go on sale soon in Mexico, adding the more powerful AWD setup and the extended-range battery pack. Regardless of size and powertrain, all 2025 BrightDrop units will come standard with the 11.3-inch infotainment system and more than 20 advanced active safety features.
The new 2025 Chevy BrightDrop 400 van is now available for sale at the bowtie brand’s authorized dealerships in Mexico, comprised of just three stores including Chevrolet Angar Azcapotzalco in Mexico City, Chevrolet Rivero Linda Vista in Monterrey, and Chevrolet Milenio Motors in Guadalajara. In the coming weeks, the long-wheelbase 600 variant with more cargo volume and greater driving range will also be available.
Here is the suggested price of the 2025 Chevy BrightDrop 400 FWD with the standard battery in Mexico:
- 2025 BrightDrop 400: 1,928,000 pesos (about $94,100 USD at the current exchange rate)

This is a joke….Right?
Mexico is a North American country and Brightdrop, as GM Authority has reported since the beginning is aimed to North American Market.
One of the top selling comercial vans in Mexico ( out of all vans, not just EVs, but also counting ICE Vans) is the Ford E-Transit, that can be verified by checking the Ford Authority page.
So it’s only logic for GM to bring their competitor.
I’m sure you’re going to tell us why a county of 128 million people and fast growing EV market (thanks to China’s heavy investment) doesn’t deserve this or won’t buy this vehicle.
Even though EVs do not have tailpipe emissions, their emissions occur during charging. In the US, approximately 60% of electricity generation comes from “fossil” fuels. And add in the CO2 generated when the battery minerals are mined and processed.
Looks like Mexico is about 80 percent fossil fuels, 20 percent renewables.
As of 2024 according to the official gov sites Mexico clean energy is close to 34% expected to be 40% by the end of 2026
$94,100. Wow! You are kidding right!
Could GM please paint the bottom of the sliding side door gray. I know it’s just a delivery van but it looks disjointed now and the issue could easy be fixed with some gray paint or a plastic strip. That small change would give the van continuous gray lower cladding that completely encircles the vehicle.
