GM Authority has learned that this week is the last chance to order a 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 truck in Thunderstorm Gray (color code GNO) exterior paint before it is retired from the truck’s color palette.

The final orders for Thunderstorm Gray paint on the 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 can be placed during the week of February 3rd, 2025, while the color will be built out after the week of March 17th, 2025.

Thunderstorm Gray is an extra-charge color on the 2025 GMC Sierra, priced at an additional $495. The color is offered on four of the truck’s trim levels, including the Pro, SLE, AT4 and AT4X trims. It is one of nine exterior paint colors offered on the pickup’s 2025 model year.

In addition to Thunderstorm Gray, the White Frost Tricoat (color code G1W) exterior paint is also no longer available to order as of January 2025, and the color will be built after the week of February 24th, 2025. New colors are expected to arrive for the 2026 model year.

  2. I totally agree, this color reminds me of when people would primer their whole vehicle back in the day and didn’t have the money for a paint job. It is exactly that color with clear on it.

  3. Reminds me of the Navy surplus dump trucks people used to get when they had a sale. Very plain to say the least. I would like to see a lighter silver than they currently offer myself.

  5. Get rid of all the depressing gray colors. They look cheep. Bring back more colors. Someone in GM is too lazy to bring back and market fun color in our suvs and trucks. Then they tell us black , white and gray are the colors we have to buy. And I can’t believe people fall for spending more for gray.
