High-Performance Cadillac Optiq-V Spied Testing: Photos

Cadillac is already serving up the first all-electric model to wear a V-Series badge via the new 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V, a high-performance crossover that’s quicker to 60 mph than the supercharged CT5-V Blackwing. However, the Lyriq-V won’t be the only battery-powered V-Series model on offer, as The General is also working on a new high-performance version of the Lyriq’s little brother, the Cadillac Optiq. Now, GM Authority has captured the upcoming Cadillac Optiq-V testing as a camouflaged prototype.

The front end of the new Cadillac Optiq-V.

Let’s start with what we see. Although this Optiq-V prototype sports some heavy camouflage, there’s still a few visible design updates we can point out. Up front, we spot a lower, more aggressive fascia, including a small chin spoiler and a new mesh treatment for the air intake. Along the sides, there are updated sills, while at the rear, the camouflaged prototype appears to be rocking a revised bumper and a larger rear spoiler on the hatch.

These features align closely with the design updates seen on the Lyriq-V, signaling a similar styling approach across Cadillac’s electric performance lineup.

The prototype also wears 21-inch gloss black wheels, matching the largest wheel diameter currently listed on the Optiq’s configurator. Although the production model may feature a unique wheel design, the size will likely max out at 21 inches, similar to how the Lyriq-V is equipped with 22-inch wheels, matching the largest-diameter wheels available for the standard Lyriq.

Optiq-V prototype brakes compared to non-V-Series Optiq brakes

The braking system has also been enhanced, with visibly larger rotors and gray-painted calipers that resemble the upgraded Brembo brakes used on the Lyriq-V. And that’s to be expected, given the Optiq-V is likely to get a substantial power boost. While exact figures remain under wraps, it’s worth noting that the Lyriq-V includes an extra 100 horsepower (615 horsepower) and 200 pound-feet (650 pound-feet of torque) compared to the non-V-Series Lyriq AWD, yielding an impressive 3.3-second 0-to-60 mph sprint (non-V-Series Lyriq rated at 4.6 seconds to 60 mph).

To this end, the Optiq-V may replace the standard model’s induction rear motor with a new magnetic unit, thus delivering equally significant gains in power and torque. Battery pack changes are unlikely, meaning a potential trade-off in range for performance – just like the Lyriq-V.

Stay tuned as we bring you all the latest on the upcoming Cadillac Optiq-V.

  1. GM is SO messed up over this continuing EV nonsense.

    1. They’re messed up for allocating a small portion of their vehicles to EVs? Or do you just want a Cadillac for Chevy money?

      1. Small portion of their vehicles? As in almost the entire Cadillac lineup?

        1. As in 3 crossovers that account for what…2% of vehicles?

    2. Beachy…The end for EVs is just around the corner. GM reminds me of Willy Wonka telling the greedy little Verushka “NO! DON’T STOP” as she gorges herself on candies that make her swell up to the point she has to have the excess squeezed out of her. The same with the new administration indirectly saying to the auto MFGs, on their losing EV quest, “NO! DON’T STOP!”….GM will have to be taken to the squeezing room to be SQUEEZED!
