The Chevy Trailblazer crossover was refreshed for the 2024 model year, with the subsequent 2025 Chevy Trailblazer debuting a few important updates and changes, including a new E85-compatible flex-fuel engine. Meanwhile, the upcoming 2026 Chevy Trailblazer is expected to debut only minimal changes compared to the 2025 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned when production of the 2026 Chevy Trailblazer is scheduled to get underway.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2026 Chevy Trailblazer is scheduled to kick off on April 1st, 2025. Dealers can submit for the 2026 Chevy Trailblazer orders as early as February 13th, 2025.
The 2026 Chevy Trailblazer will be more or less identical to the preceding 2025 Trailblazer, with only minor updates expected, the most noteworthy of which is the introduction of two new exterior paint options – White Sands (paint code G42) and Apex Red (paint code GAS). These two new colors will replace two outgoing hues, namely Nitro Yellow Metallic (paint code GHS) and Crimson Metallic (paint code GFM), respectively.
Although official pricing information for the 2026 Chevy Trailblazer has yet to be revealed, it’s expected to more or less mirror that of the preceding 2025 model year, which was detailed in previous GM Authority coverage.
Meanwhile, when it comes to the mechanical bits, the 2026 Chevy Trailblazer will continue to offer two engine options. These include the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LBP, rated at 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. Critically, the LBP offers compatibility with E85 fuel, and was introduced to the Trailblazer lineup for the 2025 model year. Customers will also have access to the turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T gasoline engine, which is rated at 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional.
Under the skin, the GM VSS-F vehicle set continues to provide the underpinnings, while production will once again take place at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea.

GM has taken another page from Hyundai – that isn’t all that desirable – by accelerating following year production. There’s no reason for production to begin before July 1, taking into account the 3-month (ridiculous) ship trip.
Horsepower is pathetic
This might be a pretty nice SUV, provided it had an engine bigger than a sewing machine motor. Something say a like 1.5L to a 2.0L…and dump the CVT!
The AWD version comes with the 1.3L turbo and 9 speed auto.
My parents have a 2024 Encore Gx. At first my dad didn’t want to even look at it because of the 3 cylinder motor, but we talked him into test driving it. We were all pleasantly surprised at how well it accelerates and has a quality ride. They bought it and are really enjoying the great gas mileage. Don’t knock that motor if you haven’t driven it.
