The 2026 Chevy Equinox EV will soon usher in the next model year of the Bow Tie brand’s all-electric crossover, with minor updates and changes expected compared to the current 2025 Equinox EV.
Now, GM Authority has learned when the 2026 Chevy Equinox EV start of regular production (SORP) is scheduled by GM, along with the opening of the model’s order books.
Production of the 2026 Chevy Equinox EV is currently slated to begin on Monday, July 14th, 2025, while dealers will be able to start placing orders for the crossover about a month and a half before the crossover starts rolling off the assembly line, on Friday, May 30th, 2025, according to the currently available information.
As usual, these dates are tentative and are subject to change in the meantime if circumstances change. The production site for the vehicle will continue to be the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.
Among a handful of other changes, the Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (color code G1W) exterior paint color may be discontinued after the 2025 model year. If it is, we expect it to be replaced by the Polar White (color code G4J) tricoat color, which is already due to appear on the 2026 Chevy Equinox in its ICE configuration.
It is also likely that the 2026 Chevy Equinox EV will introduce the North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector instead of the current Combined Charging System (CCS) port. The connector was originally expected to be added to GM electric vehicle models during the 2025 calendar year, with no model year specified.
Like other General Motors EVs, the 2026 Chevy Equinox EV will have full access to the Tesla Supercharger network, as the brand’s current models do, but with the help of a CCS-to-NACS adaptor. The Equinox EV’s current model year offers 220 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque when configured with front-wheel drive and 300 horsepower and 355 pound-feet of torque when in all-wheel drive setup.
GM battery technology and GM drive motors provide the Equinox EV with propulsion. Under the skin, the crossover continues to ride on the GM BEV3 platform.

Sales on these will be going way down if the import tax is applied. Gm will have to be making these along with other models in the US .

Move the build to USA and I will buy one.
I don’t matter anymore. The mandates are tossed. We have freedom of choice to buy what we want now. Personally, I did time in a GM years ago and never again.
