General Motors introduced the third-generation GMC Terrain for the 2025 model year, showing off updated styling, enhanced safety features, and upgraded technology. With a more truck-like exterior design and a standard 15-inch diagonal Premium GMC Infotainment System in the cabin, the third-gen Terrain has quite a lot to offer. Now, we’re diving into the 2025 GMC Terrain pricing details, including available all of the options and packages.
Presently, the 2025 GMC Terrain is available in just one trim level, plus two drivetrain configurations. The first trim out the gates is the Elevation, which will be available with front-wheel drive (FWD) for a starting price of $31,395. Opting for all-wheel drive (AWD) brings the Elevation’s price tag to $33,395. Both figures include $1,395 for the destination freight charges.
To note, higher-tier trims, including AT4 and Denali, are expected later in 2025 for the 2026 model year.

Under the hood, the 2025 GMC Terrain is motivated by the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine, which is rated at 175 horsepower and 184 or 203 pound-feet of torque. The GM D2 platform provides the bones, while production takes place at the GM San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico.

What’s “cleverly” hidden in the above list is that in order to get Convenience Package II (the one that includes a power driver’s seat among other necessities), it’s included in the Premium Package for $2700, which includes pleather and big wheels, that I wouldn’t want. Gouging!
Weak Motor, hp and torque wise and a deal breaker for me. The Terrain while small in size, is heavy. This thing at least 300HP and 275 lb-ft of torque. Oooh wait!! that,s the old 3.6ltr V6.
I noticed this too. While I wouldn’t call them necessities, it shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg to get a wireless charger in the vehicle. It feels a bit like the old days of cable TV packages. “Oh, you want that channel? It’s going to cost you…”
It’s a GMC Premium model you want cheap then buy the equinox! You people make me laugh you want a Cadillac for Chevy prices!
Bring back the 2.0 L turbo that is no longer needed for Cadillac brand since they are going all electric.
Agree. Much more of an appealing choice with the 2.0l Turbo.
Just a Question! For those of you that have the 2.01 turbo. How many of you run regular or premium gas in it? And do you notice a big difference in performance between the two? Thanks, Bill
Premium always, never use regular. 2.0l is a good engine , nice power.
That depends. if you have the old LTG 2.0T from the 2018 to 2021 Nox/Terrain they recommend premium fuel but 87 octane can be used. The newer less powerful LSY engine as used in the Envision/Acadia and Blazer just use 87.
I’m driving a new Nox now. I agree it needs a 2.0. The 1.5 is ok but it should at least have the 2.0 as an option.
Does it have an exterior option package that makes the front not look like a restarted vampire? What a heap of a bad visual design…
But that mediocre engine for near 40k sure makes up for it….
Pure General Mediocrity junkmobile.
How cleaver, your trolling is tip top good sir. Stealing names and using childish verbiage, bet you feel great!
The terrain needs to have a hybrid to be competitive with other SUVs, in my opinion.
The Denali and AT4 for sure need more than 175 HP due to larger heavier wheels and more loaded up pricier vehicles. Note that these new models also gained weight across the board with an actual loss of torque on the FWD version and zero power gain on AWD. Now that GM has killed off the ICE mid size Acadia and soon the Blazer it would be a smart idea to utilize the LSY 2.0T for the Terrain and Nox.
Totally agree!
I currently have a 2023 Terrain Denali. The size is perfect for me, the quality is good and I like the features. But the vehicle could definitely benefit from more power. Either the 2.0 or a non-plug-in hybrid would help and should be at least an option on the upcoming Denali. My lease is up in a year and I’m not sure yet if I will stick with the brand. I’m not crazy about the Tesla-styled ipad dash. A more power option would certainly help my decision.
