A somewhat unusual crash in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, resulted in a massive a Chevy Tahoe SUV coming to rest on top of a Tesla Model Y crossover. Luckily, no major injuries were reported, although images captured at the scene of the crash show the Tesla and Chevy stacked like a vehicular game of Jenga.
According to a report from local Toronto news outlet CP24, the three-vehicle accident occurred late Monday afternoon on the westbound side of Queen Elizabeth Way near Royal Windsor Drive.
The CP24 report indicates that the Tesla driver initially pulled over to the left shoulder of the highway in response to slowed traffic up ahead. Shortly thereafter, a pick-up truck following the Chevy Tahoe rear-ended the Chevy SUV, propelling it forward and towards the Tesla crossover. The impact somehow launched the massive Tahoe onto the all-electric crossover, with images of the incident showing the rear tires of the Chevy resting squarely on the Tesla’s roof, while the front tires are seen dangling off the hood.
Images shared by the Burlington Ontario Provincial Police provide dramatic evidence of the damage. Although only a few images were provided, the Chevy Tahoe is seen with significant damage to its rear and front fender, while the SUV’s side curtain airbags have been deployed. Surprisingly, the Tesla Model Y’s rear end appeared relatively undamaged, while the roof is holding strong, despite bearing the weight of the massive Tahoe SUV.
Police have charged the pick-up truck driver with careless driving as a result of their role in initiating the three-way crash. Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported, though details on those involved remain unclear.
Indeed, while the exact sequence of events that led up to the Chevy Tahoe’s position on top of the Tesla remain somewhat murky, one thing remains obvious – it can get dangerous out there, folks. Drive safe.
Comments
Jonathan, I don’t see a Chevy Tahoe. I do see a GMC Yukon
Please provide photos of a Chevrolet Tahoe on top of a Tesla something or other. Thank you.
The caption should have been “GMC Yukon Asserting it’s Dominance Over Tesla Model Y”.
The Tahoe can be repaired, the Tesla, a write off.
Correction: Yukon, I blindly followed, my bad.
Oh oh. Better get Maaco.
Looks like smack down match between GM and Tesla.
And clearly Mary wiped the road with Elon.
But seriously, one of the saddest comments we hear nowadays is when Tesla owners try to explain away their over priced vehicle purchase claiming it was made long BEFORE Elon went off the rails of decency. Note to those folks: he was never on the rails to begin with. LOL
Gives a new meaning to a three way!
Chevy Tahoe? How about GMC Yukon? Come on. Who writes these things??
GM Authority??? Really!
Put the YUKON in gear and pull down off, haha.
The accuracy of these articles is getting worse all the time.
Agree. 100%
GMA aiming for quantity over quality. Clicks=money.
Fake news
Thats not a Chevy… that’s a GMC
And it happened in Oakville, not Burlington!
Nice cribbing both vehicles, Tesla’s roof held up well, still not a fan though.
