The Chevy Silverado EV is the Bow Tie’s first mass-production all-electric pickup model, which debuted with the 2024 model year, followed up by the current 2025 Chevy Silverado EV with its introduction of five new colors, the LT trim level, and other updates. Now, it appears as though the anticipated Silverado EV Trail Boss may not join the lineup until the 2026 model year.
The Chevy Silverado EV Trail Boss seems unlikely to put in an appearance during the 2025 model year because of current scheduling. Start of regular production (SORP) of the 2026 Chevy Silverado EV is set to kick off on May 19th, 2025, with dealerships able to start submitting orders for the 2026 model year on April 10th, 2025 per existing information.
In light of these facts, General Motors has about two months between the current date and the opening of order books at the end of the first third of April 2025 to introduce the Chevy Silverado EV Trail Boss for the 2025 model year. Given the very short time in automotive market terms, there probably won’t be a 2025 Chevy Silverado EV Trail Boss.
Several rounds of spy shots have revealed some details of expected features on the Chevy Silverado EV Trail Boss, including unique 18-inch wheels wrapped in burly 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT LT285/75R18 tires, red tow hooks, and a fresh front fascia design with a new grille and intakes.
Locking differentials and the Sidewinder feature similar to the GMC Hummer EV’s CrabWalk are also among the more probable features for the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss. Range may be rated at approximately 400 miles on a single charge, though this is highly speculative and could be less if the vehicle is engineered for stronger capabilities in other areas.
The 2025 Chevy Silverado EV LT trim was introduced to provide an option between the WT (Work Truck) and range-topping RST trim. Its starting MSRP is set at $75,195, while the RST is priced at $89,395 for its Extended Range configuration and $97,895 for the Max Range variant.
Meanwhile, the WT trim was made available for retail purchase. Pricing was revised downward by $1,900 for the WT’s three variants, with respective starting MSRPs of $57,095, $69,495 and $77,795 for the 2WT Standard Range, 4WT Extended Range and 8WT Max Range trims, while range ratings increased.
The configurator for the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV pickup is currently live for the LT and RST trims, while you can check out the GM Authority guide to the six wheel styles, four interior colorways, and seven exterior paint colors offered for the year.
The Bow Tie electric pickup is supported by the GM BT1 platform, while propulsion comes from GM battery technology and GM electric motor technology. Production of the 2025 model year commenced on September 3rd, 2024 at the GM Factory Zero plant in Hamtramck, Michigan.

$100,000 for the off-road truck…
$60,000 for a stripped down work model you would not buy for your kid…
Nobody wants these at this price point…
Nobody…
We have one at work, and several more ordered. Maybe you don’t speak for as many people as you think.
You must work at GM. 🤣
Or at a job that requires pickups, like say, landscaping. The money saved on fuel more than covers the truck payment.
CANCEL IT NOW. Ford CEO, “full size electric trucks are never going to sell, were done trying to make it work.” Mary, “we met our goal in 24.”. In this corner, GM is screwing consumers on ICE truck prices and in the other corner, literally burning stacks of dollar bills.” Anyone want to take a guess what a full size Silverado would be priced at, if they were priced accordingly?
Ford doesn’t have an EV truck design that will support a pack as large as GMs. This comment is just Ford being behind.
Remind me which company is doing better, both sales wise and financially. Maybe listening to Ford’s CEO isn’t that wise.
Must be some disgruntled Ford fans down voting me. I don’t see a reason supposed GM fans would down vote a post about GM sellling better than Ford.
About as popular as Elon Musk at a Government HR office.
Rotting away on the lots where I live. Plenty to choose from. Nobody wants them.
Where are they gonna charge it at when it runs out of juice on the trail? A nearby tree???
I’d just take an Inverter Generator that uses propane, just in case (if that would even really be needed, though)
I don’t know what trails your talking about, but the Hummer EV Terrain’d on the Moab; and there were no worries about battery life.
Not sure why I got down voted.
Is there something I said that isn’t true? (I already know the answer is “No”, but don’t take my word for it; just look it up.)
Down votes here mean “your facts hurt my feelings, but I can’t refute them, so I will vent my impotent rage with a down vote”.
Makes sense.
How often do people run out of gas off road? You plan. Most of the people that go far enough to where that could be at all a concern is such a small percentage of people in this class and size of vehicle that they probably have another rig better suited. Your comment is just silly and laughable.
May not arrive before the 2025 model year. Better idea-how about never?
Yeah. Things I won’t buy should never be made!!! That is why I used my far reaching power to cancel the Camaro. Muhahahaha!!!!
who cares?
What a joke.
I’ll take mine with the ICE option!
Why bother??? Nobody wants these $100,000 Energizers.
The ICE Trail Boss is pretty much an appearance package for posers who want to look like they might go off road, but never actually do.
You don’t, and many don’t, but guess what? You aren’t that special person that speaks or decides for everyone. Good that you don’t, there any many I am sure that do and will buy them. They won’t be used to for 3 day back country treks a hundred miles from pavement just like 99.98% of ICE trailboses, but they will be for the suburban dad that wants to look cool and might find themselves in a dirt parking lot at their kids baseball game, just like 98% of trailboses do now. These will sell just fine for what EV’s are currently selling. Good thing your opinion doesn’t matter and is in the minority…
Drill baby drill
I see GM refuses to let the Pontiac Aztek die.
