Cadillac Escalade Receives J.D. Power 2025 Canada ALG Residual Value Award

GM’s popular luxury sport-utility vehicle, the full-size 2025 Cadillac Escalade, won first place in its category in the J.D. Power 2025 Canada ALG Residual Value Awards as the model likely to keep the biggest chunk of its MSRP over time.

The 2025 Cadillac Escalade is the winner of the Large Premium SUV segment in the Awards based on detailed analysis of many significant factors by J.D. Power personnel and algorithms.

As a luxury-brand model, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade will keep a higher percentage of its MSRP than its rivals over three years, unlike mass-market models, which are assessed for residual value after four years. This applies regardless of whether the vehicle is purchased or leased.

The Cadillac Escalade also won the Residual Value Awards for the Canadian market back in 2022. For the next two years, however, it lost first place to the Lexus LX, which won the Large Premium SUV category during both 2023 and 2024. The mid-cycle refresh introduced with the launch of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade apparently debuted enough changes and updates to boost its expected residual value higher than that of its Lexus competitor.

While the 2025 model year SUV is still new and actual residual value after three years is therefore not available, J.D. Power‘s expertise and extensive data enables a robust forecast of future residuals. Everything from macroeconomic conditions to the specific quality, features, and durability of the vehicle and its previous model years are taken into consideration in forecasting used-vehicle value.

Though speaking specifically of Toyota and Lexus, one of the firm’s managing directors, Danny Battaglia, says that the winning brands “can strategically make select updates or redesigns to their vehicles while retaining elements that deliver strong residual value.”

In all, the Awards picked 32 segment winners out of 282 model lines that were competing for first place in the various categories. The analysis firm notes that its “deep experience” in using available information “allows for even more accurate end-of-lease forecasting capabilities.”
