The GM Authority Take
Buick Enclave sales fell significantly during Q4 2024 as the model continues to undergo a generational changeover, seeing the biggest drop in its segment. But there are two bouts of silver lining here.
First, the 2025 Enclave is already turning very quickly on dealer lots. Second, among nine total segment contenders, third through eighth place were within about 500 deliveries of one another, meaning that any one of those models could have easily placed third with only a handful more sales.
Better yet, combining sales of the Enclave with those of the Cadillac XT6 pushed GM to the top this time even though both models placed in the last two spots in the segment.
We still expect Enclave volume to recover into the green during the first quarter of 2025 as the model moves past its generational swap and inventory is sufficiently high to positively impact sales volume. Meanwhile, Toyota Motor Company resolved the issue that caused the stoppage in sales and production of the Lexus TX, with that first-ever model already recovering in the marketplace, moving ahead of the Enclave and XT6 this quarter. As such, the Enclave will have its work cut out for it.
About Buick Enclave
The all-new 2025 Buick Enclave arrives with a restyled exterior that continues the tradition of unique Avenir trim level taillights, while LED lighting is found front and rear.
The third generation of the premium three-row, full-size crossover also boasts larger dimensions, an overhauled cabin, and a 30-inch ultra-wide infotainment screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with a plethora of safety tech, such as Blind Zone Steering Assist, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Departure Warning, and more.
The 2025 Enclave is the first Buick to offer Super Cruise, GM’s semi-autonomous driver assist system. Super Cruise is available across the 2025 Enclave lineup.
The 2025 Buick Enclave again offers three trim levels, but with notable changes to the lineup. Joining the carry-over range-topping Avenir variant is a new base model Preferred trim and the nameplate’s first-ever Sport Touring (ST) trim, replacing what was previously offered as a package on the dropped Essence and Premium trims.
The Preferred is equipped with an AutoSense power liftgate, heated front-row seats, noise cancellation, and 20-inch wheels; the ST offers a 12-speaker audio system, unique interior trim, unique badging, and a unique grille; and the Avenir is equipped with a 16-speaker audio system, 22-inch wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, and a standard Head-Up Display (HUD).
The new sole powertrain for the next-gen 2025 Enclave is the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. Here’s why the 2025 Enclave uses the 2.5L turbo engine instead of a V6. The GM eight-speed automatic transmission is standard, and the GM C1 platform provides the underpinnings. Check out the fuel economy ratings and how much it can tow.
Here are all the 2025 Enclave paint colors, the interior colorways, and available wheels.

Comments
Not surprised by the drop in sales. GM missed the mark with the redesign on the Enclave/Traverse/Acadia – there is nothing that makes them stand out unlike the 1st gen Enclave. Nice looking vehicles but again nothing that makes them overly appealing. Also too much carry over between the 3. If you remove individual brand grills and tail light treatments, all 3 have the same shell.
No, there is quite a bit difference on the shell between the Traverse and Acadia.
I have to agree, they sure have ugly front ends on all of the Buicks. Change for the sake of change doesn’t always yield dividends.
How long does it take for GM to get their ship on course?
I have a Enclave and if I was buying today I would be all over the Genesis GV80
About the same price but a much better warrenty and features. I have never
purchased a “foreign” made vehicle but it sure is tempting.
It’s a supply and availability issue. It typically takes two quarters for a new generation to recover sales volume.
The Enclave and GV80 are cross-shopped, but the Genesis is considerably more expensive than the Enclave.
2025 Enclave Avenir (highest-specced trim) starts at $60K. The 2025 GV80 starts at $59K for the base model and reaches $80K at well-equipped (comparable to the Enclave Avenir in terms of feature set).
Maybe all those on here saying how great looking the new Enclave is were wrong? To me it looks too much like a Toyota Grand Highlander and that’s not good (for a Buick). Doesn’t matter because the only Buick I’d even give a consideration to would be the Envista. Nice looking and doesn’t scream SUV.
I purchased a 24 Buick Enclave Avenir AWD just because it was the last year for the V6s in the Enclave. Look at sales, it’s called customer feedback; people do not want 4-cylinder turbo Enclaves.
For me, it took one test drive to know this garbage of a whiney engine is under powered. Acceleration is anemic until loud and chonky turbo kicks in. Give users the option of a real engine without turbos that actually can haul this size vehicle. When you offer both (same price or minimal difference), THEN you will see what people want vs you are telling them they want. Not everyone wants a vehicle to drive it like a soccer mom.
When ever I see Buicks new front end I immediately think of fur manchu.
Have a 24 Enclave and during service looked at 25.
Was not impressed with new dash design, Display screen looks stuck on top of dashboard no flow to the design, looks like and afterthought. Steering wheel seemed bloated. Shift moved from controls on center counsel to right hand steering wheel stalk.
Did not drive so have no opinion on Turbo I4 vs V6 performance.
Not a fan of front end design.
Noticed that rear doors have pointed rather than curved transition at wheel openings, preferred the curved design since our 21 Traverse left paint chips in our other car by grand kids.
Would gladly purchase a ’25 Enclave…but a base AWD starts at $49K which is $5K too much.
What keeps me away is the lack of V6 power. Beautiful car, but missed the mark with only available engine is a noisy turbo 4.
Selling Enclave was such a joy before but now people are not buying because of the 4 cylinder. I have a couple of customers that have bought 3 Enclaves that switched to Toyota because of the 4 cylinder. How does Mary keep her job? This is the flagship of the Buick brand and they sold 5000 in quarter 4 and they talk about it’s about change? Yes, it’s about change from a V6 to a 4cyl. I have had several Enclaves and I purchased the Cadillac XT6.
