Riptide Blue Metallic is one of the five new paint colors added to the model’s lineup with the launch of the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV, introducing blues, grays, and a red-orange color to the palette.
We’re looking at detail at Riptide Blue Metallic as one of the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV paints that expand buyer options greatly from the two exterior colors offered on the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV.
GJV is color code used to identify Riptide Blue Metallic, while its touch-up paint code designation is WA-121J. In all, the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV features seven different colors, including both no-charge and extra-charge hues. These are summarized here:
Riptide Blue Metallic is a metallic color as its name suggests, and not a tintcoat color. The Riptide exterior paint is available on the LT and RST trims, but is not offered on the Work Truck (2WT, 5WT, 8WT) trim level. It is an extra-charge color priced at an additional $395.
As a reminder, the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV technically has a quartet of interior colors, with three of those being trim-specific variations on Jet Black Evotex:
The 2025 Chevy Silverado EV offers several optional packages, namely the Black Package Plus (RPO code PDK) for the LT trim and the Dark Package RST (RPO code PDL) for the RST trim level. Turning the tailgate into a multifunctional component with an audio system and lights can be handled by selecting the Gameday Tailgate Package (RPO code PDH).
The Silverado EV is priced at $75,195 base for the LT Extended Range trim, while the RST is pricier at $89,395 and $97,895 respectively for Extended Range and Max Range configurations. The truck can be built using the currently live online configurator for the model.
The 2025 Chevy Silverado EV, which rides on half a dozen available wheel types, is configured as standard with AWD regardless of trim. Paired GM drive motors and GM batteries can provide up to 754 horsepower depending on trim level. The GM BT1 platform underpins the Silverado EV, while production is carried out at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.
Tested by teams in Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, USA and China.
Probably a show car.
Plus, up to $1,250 off and local market leases on small luxury crossover.
But overall volume remained significantly behind the pack.
Possibly addressing the car's theft problem.

Hideous on such a large vehicle.
My son loves that colour. Says it makes it stand out. Ours is the boring white WT, but it is just going to be wrapped in company livery anyway.
That looks sweet and very modern
Ladies and gentleman, an example of different views...
Beachy has always only one type of view. Negative.
LOL. If they would have showed it in white, Beachy would have griped "why can't they ever have different colors"
I would like to see Riptide Blue Metallic on every Chevrolet!
Because that will make it sell better? 🤣😂😅😂🤣😭
In my opinion Ford had the right idea with their Ford lighting. Make a F150, use electric drive train. It makes it much more approachable to someone who was going to buy a F150 to consider buying a lightning since it's a F150, but electric.
Not this where the only thing in common with a Silverado is the name. One of the biggest advantages pickups have is their separate bed and cab. Meaning if you damage the bed (easy to do on a work truck) you can easily swap the bed with 4 bolts and a hour of work (at most). Or if the pickup bed doesn't work, you can swap it for a utility bed, flat bed, tow bed, home made bed and more.
Stop trying to make pickups have a unibody bed and cab. It ends up doing the same thing as a cyber truck, being too big for most EV car people and too rigid in use for many pickup people.
Also stop having the front of the bed have higher sides. It just makes it harder to get stuff out of the bed.
It isn't difficult to grab stuff out of the bed over the sides in the Silverado EV.
