The 2025 Chevy Colorado arrives with a host of notable changes for the midsize pickup, including the discontinuation of the base turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R engine and additional standard features. While potential buyers have been eager to explore their options, Chevrolet’s online configurator tool for the 2025 Colorado has faced multiple delays. Now, GM Authority has received an update on its long-awaited release.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the 2025 Chevy Colorado configurator is scheduled to go live in early March.
For those readers who have followed this story for the last several months, it’s likely that this latest update sparks a least a small degree of skepticism. The 2025 Colorado configurator was initially set to launch on November 27th, 2024, before it was pushed back to December 16th, 2024. Unfortunately, the configurator once again failed to launch in December, with Chevrolet later indicating that it would instead arrive sometime between March and April of 2025.
Hopefully, the latest update of early March is indeed on the mark.
Although the 2025 Colorado configurator tool remains unavailable, dealerships across the United States are now stocked with the 2025 Chevy Colorado LT trim. Chevrolet originally planned to eliminate the standalone LT trim, with plans to instead offer an optional LT package for the WT trim, much like the strategy implemented for the 2025 GMC Canyon and AT4X off-roader. However, The General later reversed its decision, instead opting to once again offer the LT trim as a standalone model. To note, the 2025 Chevy Colorado LT is equipped as standard with the LT Appearance and Convenience Package (RPO code XTD).
As a reminder, the 2025 Chevy Colorado is only available the Turbo High-Output 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R deleted from the lineup following the launch of the 2025 model year. Underneath the body panels, the 2025 Chevy Colorado rides on the updated 31XX-2 platform, while all 2025 Chevy Colorado variants are built at GM’s Wentzville plant in Missouri.

Wow. Just in time for the upcoming 2026 MY.
This may well be for the 2026 MY. I was told 2 weeks ago the Dealer Order cutoff for a 2025 Colorado is March 4th…
Ridiculous. The Canyon configurator has been live for weeks now.
Wow how incompetent can the marketing and pr staff be? Hahah. Even with tariffs affecting the price .. ford still has Ranger and Maverick out for 2025 holy bad
What people may not realize is that perhaps the single manufacturing plant is at full capacity building orders now! The configuration gives you options to built select a dealer and order. Why would they push to get this up and running when they can’t build anymore trucks ahead of orders that have already been slated to build.
