The 2025 Chevy Colorado brings with it several notable changes, including the discontinuation of the base-level turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R engine, several new standard features, and a price increase across the trim level lineup. Despite the higher prices, anyone interested in the new 2025 Colorado will undoubtedly like to spec the pickup using the official configurator tool at Chevy‘s website, but unfortunately, the configurator is currently unavailable. Now, GM Authority has a new update on when the 2025 Colorado configurator will finally go live.
According to sources familiar with the matter, GM expects the 2025 Chevy Colorado configurator tool to go live this coming March at the earliest, or April at the latest.
For those who may have missed it, the 2025 Chevy Colorado configurator tool was originally scheduled to launch on November 27th, 2024, but was later delayed to December 16th, 2024. However, that date has also come and gone, and Chevrolet is now expecting the 2025 Colorado configurator to go live sometime between March and April of 2025.
The reason behind the delayed launch of the 2025 Colorado configurator tool remains unclear.
Nevertheless, although the configurator tool remains unavailable, new units of the 2025 Chevy Colorado LT are finally arriving at dealerships across the United States. GM initially planned to replace the standalone LT trim with an optional LT package for the WT trim, similar to GM’s strategy for the 2025 GMC Canyon and AT4X trim level. However, the automaker later reversed this decision, opting to continue offering the LT trim as a standalone option. The 2025 Chevy Colorado LT is equipped with the LT Appearance and Convenience Package (RPO code XTD) as standard.
As a reminder, the 2025 Colorado now offers the Turbo High-Output 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine as the exclusive powertrain option, while GM’s updated 31XX-2 platform serves as the underpinnings. Vehicle production takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

So a potential customer needs to go to a dealer, or rely on sketchy websites to spec one out? Ridiculous in this day and age.
The software engineers needed to get the configurator up and running are currently working for Elon Musk rewriting government software to hunt down and fire federal workers not loyal to the new Reich.
That’s it. Got my first Chevy in ’74. My last two cars were Suburbans, purchased both new. Last one purchased was a 2004. But, I’m done. Too many problems with Colorado tranny. Stopped selling the best paint choices for government looking grays and greens, yuk. Mechanics who are friends and had been loyal chevy Silverado truck tell me they have a lot of problems, particularly tranny.
They have many different colors. Things are different than they were in 04
The new 2025 Colorado trucks are on the lots but you can’t configure on like for another 60-90 days?…..that’s so stupid
And yet the Canyon’s configurator has been up and running for weeks..
2025 Configurator will be out just in time for the 2026 Colorado model.
This makes absolutely zero sense. How can they have EVERY OTHER vehicle’s build and buy configurator pages live for the 2025 model year including all Chevy’s and GMC’s BUT the Chevy Colorado? They have been making 2025 Chevy Colorados since December and the dealers have the configurator but the public doesn’t? That makes absolutely NO SENSE! Then even worse it will take them 5 MONTHS LONGER THAN FIRST STATED! THAT IS ABSURD! How long does it take to make a configurator? They should have been working on it a month BEFORE it was supposed to go live so even if they somehow ran into problems then it could be finished a month later but NOT 5 MONTHS LATER!
But they don’t have all the 2025 model configurators up…Try to build a Traverse, Tahoe, or Suburban.
The GM Elites are clueless and getting more and more clueless as time goes on.
can anyone say Toyota 5.7 Liter? Forget the Colorado.
I say 5.7 liter Toyota was terrible for me! If you have ever owned a 5.7 Toyota, you wouldn’t be bragging about it……they are not that good at all. Toyota has been suffering from many issues on drive drain related problems. I know this from personal experience.
What an absolute total joke!
Was going to give them benefit of the doubt with the whole “LT/no LT” last minute curveball, but it’s got to be more than that if other configurators aren’t up either.
IMHO, this move is clear as day…
GMC Customers get to configure early because GMC charges more than Chevys. So you pay more to get the “privilege” of ordering what you want.
But that “privilege” is not afforded Chevy Customers. No, you have scrounge through available Dealer inventory to find an acceptable compromise to what you’d really like.
Chevys are just “pipeline / inventory fill” vehicles produced the way GM wants them made / sequenced…while GMC’s are, in essence, “special order” vehicles. Made outside of the build plan.
Being able to order want you want is the next “profit opportunity” for OEM’s.
How about a standard bed option GM??
Oh look, GM ignoring another non-EV brand.
I bet the long range plan is to make Chevrolet EV-only. Nothing but EV appliance cuvs/suvs.
GMC will sell you overpriced gasoline cars/trucks/suvs in addition to the Hummer. Caddy will sell you luxo barge EVs.
Might as well just launch the 2026 configurator at this point
